Finally got a dual-boot system going again, and have been doing one of my periodic dives into the world. Here's a little jam in Cardinal via Carla. Patch d/l in video description.

The Linux #DAW website is exactly the kind of #LinuxAudio #MusicProduction resource I've been looking for - developed, as I understand, by @amadeus. The reputation of #Linux as a viable #music production OS is rapidly changing, thanks in part to excellent sites like this. Not to mention, of course, all the great software listed therein. https://linuxdaw.org/

I am happy to announce that https://linuxdaw.org has a #logo now! 🥳
Especially since I designed it for and with @alf in the last weeks (with @inkscape, what else?). 😜
We hope to have given this helpful #directory of excellent #musicmaking #software for #linuxdesktop a proper visual identity.
Here's to many new (and existing) #linuxaudio users benefiting from it! 🙂

Powrót do linuksa w cyklu kilkuletnim zawsze owocuje miłymi zaskoczeniami.

is a brand new algorithmic reverb. It's VST3.

"Turbo Paco is an old-style Algorithmic Reverb, based on some own and other classic algorithms.
This Effect is mostly about Allpass loop and Feedforward-Comb reverbs, with some few exceptions. There are some Choruses as a bonus.

The controls are pretty much self-explanatory except "Dyn Time" and "Op Range". When "Dyn Time" is positive the dynamics processor does ducking. When it's negative it does inverse ducking, which results in a kind of gate. "Op Range" is the level at which the hard clipper will clip the input signal. This is necessary for controlling the dynamic range of the fixed-point implementation.

The design philosophy is to have a limited set of controls and many algorithms. Now there aren't a lot, but more can be added."

Did you know that you can boot multiple distros from one USB stick?

I didn't yesterday, but now I do!

is a tool that will boot a USB stick with a bunch of .iso files on it and you can just choose which one you wanna boot.

https://www.ventoy.net/

Just prepare the USB stick once and after that all you need to do is copy over any .iso distro file.

How freakin cool is that?!
(I think it's pretty awesome)

DiscoDSP (https://www.discodsp.com) is just an awesome software developer that makes their plugins available for Linux!

Really recommend the Discovery Pro synth which is an emulation of the Clavia Nord Lead. It even supports presets from the hardware originals. It sounds awesome!

Need help with Ubuntu:
I have a Pause/Play button on my laptop keyboard that I want to work, and stop/play music or video playing in the background (it worked fine when Windows was the main OS).
Rn, when pressed, I just have this thing pops up (picture).

Any ideas how to enable those buttons?

Tried: settings>keyboard>shortcuts>sound and media
&
playerctl play-pause

both didn't work.

Boosts are appreciated, thanks :)

@bumbar 1/2 Ableton are not the most agile. 😜 The hope remains that they will make Live a real . That would certainly be good for , as then perhaps even more would feel motivated to port their products. I think many shy away from the expected support effort. But I think it would be good enough if there would be limited support (or none).

I updated https://linuxdaw.org/ so that the default sort now shows the latest additions of plugins.

That way it's easier to keep track of new software being released.
