Increasingly feels unbelievably lucky that I grew up in the narrow period of time when you could consistently find true and useful material on the internet just by typing an obvious query into a search engine
What would 90s nostalgia be without Charmed? I just remembered that was on! Also, went to say TNT into the remote and I said TMNT. I would've been happy with either, lol! #Nostalgia#Charmed#NinjaTurtles
These are pictures I took at the Jack in the Green fest, held every Beltane in Hastings. These are from 13 years ago, when I lived in London. I particularly like this portrait of the inimitable Simon Costin of the Museum of Witchcraft and Magic in Cornwall. This was a magical time and place, when I haunted folky events. It may never again be safe for me to be in crowds like this. I’m mourning that loss this Beltane. #Beltane#hastings#JackInTheGreen#Festivals#nostalgia#Pagan#MayDay#2010
DOS detectives, help! This screenshot brought up lost-yet-vivid childhood memories, and of course I went looking... only to find this "The Haunted Manor" appears nowhere on archive.org, doesn't come up on Google, doesn't seem to exist on MobyGames, and has no hits on YouTube. I can't find any evidence of a DOS developer called "Fiendish Software" either.
Curiously enough, I still own the cover disk for this issue of PC Review, but not the 5.25" that would have this game on it. The version I played as a child was just an executable on a generic floppy disk, probably downloaded from a BBS.
I've already gone through a half-dozen Night Owl compilation discs trying to find the game, without luck. Please send help so that I do not have to explore any more of these interminable shareware archives I beg you
Watercolor splash painting of a classic vintage Wurlitzer jukebox.
Sadly, I haven't had the pleasure of seeing this classic machine do its magic, but I love the design and the mark it left not only on music but also on interior design.
The porch - once a prominent part of the home was a place to take a seat, have a glass of cold lemonade on a hot day, read the paper, have a pleasant chat with the neighbor, share a story with friends or family, or daydream. Life as it happened is an homage to the generation of Americans who used to sit on their porch and just enjoy what the day would bring.
While doing more clutter removal & #SpringCleaning - found one of my old #Sony#walkman units. Tested it. Still works! Offered to gift it to a friend's hipster teen.
This got me all nostalgic: a review of the Hoi Amiga game in the August 1992 issue of The One magazine, UK. As a youngster I co-designed the game and created all graphics. 🥲
Every choice of favorite retro computer is correct. No exception - if you have fond memories of a system most people disliked, ignore the haters and enjoy remembering something that mattered to you. Then go find a good emulator.
Andy Warhol holding a mouse next to an Amiga 1000 with a tilted monitor, around its public introduction in July 1985. Such a magical time of the digital revolution. ❤️
Happy #RecordStoreDay!! Here's a small portion of my vinyl collection, arranged in a colorful pattern and edited in a vintage camera color pallet and vignette.
Today's #retrogaming on the #Commodore64#C64#ForbiddenForest , it's a shoot 'em up with a bow and arrow, but you have to load your bow before you fire so it takes a little bit of skill. Great fun and a real test of skill (as you can tell I have none!) #nostalgia
