Hi all @Vivaldi users, does anyone know if I can hide the window bar?

My goal here is to have a video player that can be moved around but all the UI elements are gone. No scrollbar, window bar or anything.

Maybe there is something I can do within Linux options? But I think Vivaldi have their own window bar in place.,

I love the Notes feature in #Vivaldi. Seriously, I use it all the time. Sometimes I just add quick notes in a panel. Sometimes I tile a full tab with another page so it's more of a full sized document. When I change computers or even fire up @Vivaldi on my phone, my notes are there. I can do formatting and even embed images. Seriously, it's hard to overstate how useful this feature is to me.

@Dricc Yea, mobile isn't as full featured as its desktop version is, and there are quite a few features regarding Notes that I'd love to see go mobile. Widgets and Markdown rendering would be top of the list.

Just wanted to bring this to the community's attention: Giving two massive thumbs down to the browser as the experience for those of us using a is There's no seperation between the toolbar at the top, the main part of the window & the status bar at the bottom. Trying to use a shortcut to access the toolbar or even the address bar won't work as there's no keyboard shortcuts to do that with. Even accessing the menu is a hit or miss proposition for a screen reader user. Also, don't get me started on the focus jumping that goes on when you're navigating between pages, it's frustrating to say the least. Very that accessibility seems to be an afterthought for this browser. using this hot mess of a web browser until they bother to fix it, assuming they actually give a shit in the first place. Boost if possible, as I'd like to save others in the blind community from a poor experience.

don't worry, I'm fine!

how are you doing? will respond to you tomorrow, if there will be such.

I've been recently trying to be active on all 3 famous Twitter alternatives (Bluesky, Threads, and here). I do check notifications and do reply if needed.

switched from @Waterfox & @Vivaldi 's AppImage versions to .deb, have some issues with syncing, will report tomorrow.

good night, see you next time! I will post probably tomorrow unlike today.

There is a lot of reasons to love Mastodon and the Fediverse. One of them is the lack of algorithmic content. It does take a bit longer to get going and build up content providers, but not having a feed full of crap is all worth it!

It is time to invite more of your friends to join us. Invite to your current server or you can invite them to Vivaldi Social! Help them get going. They will thank you!

You have to wonder why Apple is so afraid of a full browser choice and allowing browser makers to run on their own codebase on iOS.

Could it be that they worry that other browsers might be better?

Some are comparing Safari to Internet Explorer and the comparison may be apt at this time.

If you have the time, read the text below and watch the videos. They tell a story.

Okay, this getting frustrating. I'm on the Vivaldi Social instance but when I use the instance in the Vivaldi browser, if the instance sits idle for a few hours, it locks up and then crashes the browser. It can stay idle all day in Firefox and works fine when I come back to it. And again, like a few times in the past, I can no longer see Vivaldi (or tag them) here on Mastodon. I can see others on the instance just fine. I can't even reach out to them about the issue. This is why I've tried other instances in the past but moving to a new instance just pisses people off. Trust me, I've receive a few unpleasant messages about the move and then requesting a new follow.

@cmccullough Strange. I use for everything, including having Mastodon in an open tab 24/7/365. It doesn't lock or crash the browser. I'm tagging @Vivaldi here in this message. Maybe they've got some silver bullet for you?

@vivaldi Sadly as much as my move from the desktop version of to have been a resounding success, the same cannot be said for Vivaldi mobile.
Sync works really well but unfortunately it renders a lot of pages innacurately in both mobile and desktop modes. I'm on the latest Samsung flip, running the latest update. It's unusable for a lot of sites which means I'll have to find a different daily driver on mobile.

The status bar in @Vivaldi is a treasure trove. Here are a few things you should have a look at!

  1. The page capture function is very useful. You can capture any part of Vivaldi or you can capture the whole page. I use this a lot.

  2. The image and animation toggle allows you to turn off image loading and reduce animations.

  3. The page tiling button is for tiling pages. The easiest is to start with a tab stack and then tile it.

  4. The page actions button lists a set of page actions you can use to change how the page looks. Examples include various filters and transformations.

  5. The zoom function is easily accessible in Vivaldi and unlike other browsers, we zoom the current tab by default, instead of the domain, meaning it is easy to change the zoom on all pages in a tab for a while.

  6. The clock is useful for seeing the time, but it also has a nice timer.

This is all in the right corner. In the left corner you find the pause button...

We cannot have a situation where what you are doing on your computer, suddenly is feeding into some AI.

Unfortunately cannot decouple from Microsoft for mail, collab, etc. We need to support clients and unfortunately have to eat the same dogfood.
