Hmm, it appears the #NWS#bots I have here that clone #Twitter are finally dead, with the switch for the birdsite to require login to view tweets. There is an extensive list of alternative weather bots that @lckrohjr and myself have running (the IEMBOT). I am going to swap the bots to pull weather stories/etc., but will be some time. BIGGER ISSUE: NWS TORNADO BOT WILL NOT RUN.
I got back from a trip to somewhere in the #Texas Triangle earlier this evening. Yesterday evening, there were #tornado#warnings for the #TX#Panhandle; luckily, the severe #weather only produced a #funnel, which becomes a tornado when the air mass touches down on the ground.
If you are planning a #roadtrip that goes across the Midwest/ #TornadoAlley, keep a good eye on the weather. If you see the sky go from sunny one moment to stormy the next, watch out for #tornadoes and listen out for weather alerts from the #NWS; I actually predicted a tornado that occurred in those circumstances BTW.
As of today, #NWS can no longer reliably send automated tweets for time sensitive products like #tornado and severe #thunderstorm#warnings.
Where NWS cannot tweet, bad actors, manipulators, and profiteers will rush in to fill the void. The bird site continues its decline into a cratered wasteland of misinformation and disinformation.
