I love calckey, but before I switched to only fedi social media wise I used to actively use reddit and instagram a bunch earlier as well, both for their own reasons.
When possible (available as nixos modules) I kinda wanna host a #pixelfed and #kbin/#lemmy (lemmy is already available but i plan on using both kbin and lemmy so i can make a decision)

Coming from instagram is interesting. Never used it but my impression is it's nicely minimalist in which case Mastodon makes sense as a nice fit! Tried #Pixelfed? (insta clone). It seems to be growing nicely and from what I've heard it works well with mastodon.

I do believe more #mastodon users should use #BlueSky there’s a lot that the team and users in general can learn from those in the #fediverse and clear up misconceptions
Misskey (& #Calckey) already have many of the features people are requesting Mastodon to implement, so people can sign up or setup an instance that suits their fancy.
Ever since i started including alt texts to all media posted on #Mastodon and #Pixelfed, i've never stopped doing it, but i'd be lying if i didn't say it had added quite a huge friction to me posting here if a photo/video is involved. It'd be great if there was a local/client-based feature that uses #AI to draft alt texts for u which u then simply need to adjust/improve, that'd be really cool. sort of like @IceCubesApp's feature of hashtagging keywords on ur post automatically.
I wonder if anyone has looked across #fediverse platform themes yet, to identity which are pulling #Google fonts, a serious #privacy tracking threat. Which platform is most resistant to and prioritising privacy?
Users should know if their instance is intentional about protecting them from surveillance #capitalism.
I think it's safe to say that only Mastodon opens uses its local cache to open a remote profile. Other software, regardless if they have a local cache, opens the URL since it starts with https: and not a webfinger.
@mitexleo@deco@pixelfed The app doesn’t currently allow following hashtags which is why I was so pleased to see today’s announcement. Most people will find #pixelfed from the app so I think more focus should be given to the app.
