@StillIRise1963 I despise Trump, but he is a symptom of something that is rotten in the body politic. There were others before him and others who will follow. Trump must be resolutely defeated, not just politically. Sadly the US squandered 4 years in resolving his treason. Many who supported him are still in Congress.

The book won the National Book Award & Pulitzer Prize for fiction, & it was cited prominently when Steinbeck was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1962. When preparing to write the novel, Steinbeck wrote: "I want to put a tag of shame on the greedy bastards who are responsible for this [the Great Depression and its effects]."
Watching the bear vs man in forest stories & I remember when our 9-year-old son said some boys at recess offered to play with him if 'he hugged & kissed a girl.'
He replied, "No, that's inappropriate," & told us he didn't mind not being able to play with those boys after all. Later his teacher shared she was happy he stood up to peer pressure.

@QasimRashid Qasim during Apartheid, the oppressive regime was supported by the Dutch Reformed Church which preached and probably still does, that the white man was ordained and annointed by God to have dominions over all the earth, and that people of colour were to serve this race. They even quoted the Bible to justify Apartheid and murder of people of colour. Some even claimed that people of color were not human. This regime was supported financially, politically and diplomatically the west.
