I might have replied ¨Since I am part of an open community, I will be recording and transcribing the round table for my community. This is not a request, it is what is required of me as a member in good standing of my community.¨
@kev if they were serious, all conversations would be public. But they don’t know how to have public conversations. Or rather, don’t have the skills to manage the repercussions of what is stated publically.
@kev I think what she really meant to write was “Greetings. Since it became clear to us that we couldn't scare you to silence, we will now join you. We have come to collect Pixelfed, Mastodon and all the rest of you little buggers with weird names. You will all be added to my boss necklace. Best regards, Rachel at Meta.”
@kev I think what she really meant to say was “Greetings. Since it became clear to us that we obviously couldn't scare you to silence, we will now join you. We have come to collect Pixelfed, Mastodon and all the rest of you little buggers with weird names. You will all be added to my necklace. Best regards, Rachel at Meta.”
@kev "your primary motivation for P92 should be to connect people, not to make money by forfeiting their privacy for ad revenue. We both know that's very unlikely to happen though." SPOT ON! Thank you for being so clear and direct :-D
You are FRICKIN' awesome!!! Thank you for taking this stance AND sharing it with us! Yes, this is indeed why I am here (in the #fediverse, on #Mastodon, with #indieweb.social).
@kev “Hi! We’d love to discuss the possibilities of decapitating Mastodon, wearing its skin, and filling its still-steaming corpse with ad revenue dollars! Off the record, of course.”
@kev What’s the over under that they’re doing this for the sole purpose of aggregating data from other instances to build profiles on people that refuse to use Meta/Facebook services?
@kev How is Meta asking a bunch of people for advice in any way a round table discussion? "Roundtable discussion with the topic 'How can all of you best help me?'"
