Bad news for radio astronomy AND optical astronomy. Not only is 'Supplemental Coverage from Space' (aka direct-to-cell) transmission unregulated at this point, but the 2nd generation of #BlueBird satellites will be monstrously large reflectors of sunlight.
This depends on how many interests you have, how much you have to tell, and how much time you are willing to spend.
Overcoming the initial shyness is the most difficult thing, IMO. The #DeadBirdSite helped me a lot in this when it was still the original #BlueBird, #Twitter.
I started here with a lot of drive.
People here are awesome in general. Very different from the #enshittified corporate sites, you'll see.
Apart from that I've found this advice useful:
The bluebirds continue to make up the majority of the birds at the feeder. I believe the male red bellied woodpecker has finished pecking out a nesting cavity, as I haven't seen him working at it lately. Meanwhile, the female is dining at the feeder a lot. The weather continues to oscillate between numbing cold and heat appropriate to early summer. #birds#birding#birdsofmastodon#birdphotography#nature#HoosierMast#bluebird#woodpecker
It's been cloudy most of the day and there were only the usual suspects at the feeders. The air quality index (AQI) has been getting worse. I wonder if it's related to the #zombiewildfires in Canada. It used to be that the only good thing about winter was how clean the air was--now there's nothing good about winter. #birds#birding#birdsofmastodon#birdphotography#bluebird#finch#HoosierMast
The weather is odd for January. It was so warm today, I took the heater out of the birdbath since it appears that low temperatures will remain above freezing for the next 2 weeks at least. And despite the rain, it is still foggy. #birds#birding#birdsofmastodon#nature#fog#bluebird#HoosierMast
