EDIT: IT'S BEEN IDENTIFIED!

Read the comments for the answer.

OK, Mastodon ... time to do the Hive Mind Thing.

Watching an episode of "Robin Hood" staring Richard Greene, they had this image of a castle. It's probably just a stock shot, but I was wondering if anyone could identify it.

I've tried a Google Image search, but that didn't give anything.

So ... suggestions? Evidence?

If you're comfortable doing so, please boost for reach.

Those winter's mornings, drizzly, foggy, not too warm...
I'll pop the kettle on again I think 🤔

Dunglass Castle on the shore of the Clyde Estuary near Bowling to the west of Glasgow. Originally built in 1380 for the Barony of Colhouquon. By the 1700s it lay in ruins. In 1899, the house in the background was bought by the parents of the Glasgow Style artists Margaret and Frances MacDonald. The interior was later re-modelled by Margaret's husband, Charles Rennie MacKintosh.

The overlooking the Neckar river. One of the last pics I took back when I lived there before moving to Munich.

For tonight’s video, we snuck just over the border into Ayrshire to bring you the story of Loch Doon Castle and its links with the Bruce family. Loch Doon was part of the Earldom of Carrick, traditionally a part of Galloway.

It's been a little moist here recently, do hope it stops at some point - before we evolve webbed feet. 😳

The defenders of Dilsberg Castle allegedly once beat back a siege by throwing beehives at the attackers.

We went out today partly because it might be the last Sunday of fine this year, a chance to walk in 🌞 however it was a bit too hot for walking for me. We went to which is called a but isn't actually one. It's got a more complicated than I realised, but is well known as home of so fits with our other walks this summer.

Tigh Mor in the Trossachs still looking more autumnal than spring like.

Another visible from level. And boats and kayaks because we had good weather. Yeah, it was very hot :blobcat_dead:

Resting place for tourists. There are some traditional ornaments. I wondered if these hexagonal patterns are symbol of Slavic storm god Perun. I heard this symbol is sometimes used.

Photo of a hill with bright rocks and forest above the lake surface. There is castle ruin on the top.
Photo of a mountain landscape above the lake surface. Land is covered with dense forest and there is well-preserved castle. There are two red kayaks and two white-blue tourist ships.

Oh wow. I’m following @Rob_Marshall for quite some time now but this one beats it all. “Wolf At The Door” is an interpretation of the siege of Stirling Castle in 1304.

There’s also a production video beside the rendered images and a lot of background information on the siege itself. Fiddling with Blender myself I’ve quite some understanding about the process involved so I can’t stress enough how freakin awesome this work is:
