Can #podcasting be made to work with #ActivityPub as well as #RSS? Then podcatchers could work like a #Mastodon client, allowing us to interact directly via comments, favorites and spreading around the best episodes via boosts. #podcasts

Das Aktionsbündnis neue Soziale Medien hat heute an die #Hochschulen in Deutschland appelliert, ihre Accounts bei #X (vormals #Twitter) baldmöglichst still zu legen.
In dem Appell wird darauf hingewiesen, dass die Präsenz bei X/Twitter aufgrund der dort betriebenen #Desinformation und politischen Hetze nicht dem Aufklärungsanspruch der Hochschulen gerecht wird. Gleichzeitig sollten Präsenzen auf #Mastodon und anderen Servern im #Fediverse aufgebaut werden, deren dezentrale und moderierte Gestaltung viel eher mit den Regeln eines demokratischen und nachhaltigen Miteinanders vereinbar ist.
„Gerade #Hochschulen haben eine Vorbildfunktion und sollten Informationen und Austausch nicht über Überwachungsplattformen anbieten. Das #Fediverse bietet für alle möglichen Anwendungsbedürfnisse verschiedene Plattformen, die alle miteinander vernetzt sind. Hier können Hochschulen nicht nur einen Ersatz für #Microblogging finden, sondern können die Softwares und Funktionen nutzen, die auch private Kommunikation, Gruppen und Foren oder Funktionen für Audio-/Videoformate oder Events bieten (wie #Peertube, #Friendica, #Misskey, #Castopod u.v.m.)“

Listened yesterday to the @Flipboard "Dot Social #Podcast with @mike and @evan - it was fascinating to hear from one of the co-authors of #ActivityPub and it was fascinating counterpoint to the first episode with @mmasnick. I don't have a tech background but I am quite interested in questions of community and connection). From the outside, ActivityPub is fascinating for its sheer versatility.

Auch wenn es auf Mastodon noch nicht so viele Accounts gibt wie auf den großen, kommerziellen Plattformen, ist die Kommunikationsqualität eine ganz andere. Probiert es aus! 🎉

Vielleicht fällt auf, dass nicht alle oben aufgeführten Accounts auf unserer eigenen Instanz liegen. Genau wie bei E-Mails, können auch hier Nutzende verschiedener Angebote miteinander kommunizieren: Gmail spricht ebenso selbstverständlich mit GMX wie freiburg.social mit bawü.social und anderen. Das nennt man Föderation und wird in diesem Artikel erklärt.

Gościnią Radio Warroza jest dr nauk rolniczych w dziedzinie pszczelnictwa Pani Łucja Skonieczna.
Kanały RSS kiedyś były bardziej popularne - to nie ulega wątpliwości. Ale czy można liczyć na ich odrodzenie? Moim zdaniem tak, a że technologia jest dość prosta, to warto się nią zainteresować, zarówno jako twórca, jak i po prostu czytelnik.
W fundacji @ftdl we współpracy z @warroza przy okazji uruchamiania ogólnodostępnej instancji #Castopod chcemy uruchomić polski indeks / wyszukiwarkę podkastów. Czy chciałbyś włączyć się w prace zespołu?
