With the recent OLED launch for the Steam Deck what is the current best manufacturer of PC gaming handheld devices? (Since there are more in case you prefer another one not listed skip the poll and answer in comments)

Oh. released a new . 😲 A version with an screen.

But pretty much everything was updated and improved. The screen is the main point why I don't use the Steam Deck so much. It's just terrible. Not bad, not unpleasant. It's terrible.

I'm extremely interested in this but probably won't get it. It's just too pricey for a still minor upgrade. Same performance but more efficient.

If they had a trade-in like "send us our old Steam Deck and pay 30% for the new one" or soI would probably be interested. And by interested I mean the post would be much shorter and would state, that I just bought it. 😅

MAME 0.260 (www.mamedev.org)

Some long-anticipated updates landed in October, making MAME 0.260 a very exciting release! Firstly, there are some general updates to MAME itself. After a few false starts, MAME now supports bgfx video output with Wayland on Linux. As requested by users, you can finally use delta CHD files for clone systems and software items....

People keep telling me to watch "Twister", but it's never on TV or free streaming. But, I'm too cheap to "rent" it on Amazon Prime for $3.79. However, it was $2.99 at the local Goodwill. 🤔

Hmm, Dusty and I own the same CB handheld.

Funnily enough, I got the atomic purple Limited Run Games x CRKD Nitro Deck dock for my OLED today, the same day scalpers stole the transparent purple from me. 🙄

I have to admit that I might use this more than the Pocket, but who knows? I go in spurts of wanting to play retro games vs current ones.

First impression is that it does add a lot of weight to the Switch, and the ABXY buttons sometimes don’t register being pressed as expected. More later.

The grips for the Nitro Deck feel chunky and slightly less comfortable than the grips which have a bigger change in depth relative to the screen part of the Steam Deck. As a result, even though the Steam Deck is bigger, my hands more comfortably curl around the Steam Deck grips compared to the Nitro Deck.

Closer look at the Nitro Deck grip from the top to see how chunkier it seems compared to the Steam Deck’s grip (in the next picture)
Closer look at the top of the Steam Deck’s grip to show how there’s more of a difference between the size of the grip and the screen section

The runs unless I'm mistaken, but the upcoming is going to have a chipset so I wonder what OS it will use. It's probably going to be a or some custom build. Thing is, I mainly want it for of , namely , and /PS3. Might be better off getting a ?

The looks pretty sweet. I can see it doing alright, and too probably. A lot cheaper than an x86

At the end of my 40s I still love . I play on and (use cloud gaming while away) and increasingly on my beloved for those sweet non-Xbox games.
