***Someone gave me a throw away plant with only one leaf left. So I blessed it and put it up in an oak. This is the result! I had to make some art out of it too. :)

Really old tree in , added my backpack for a sense of scale. Estimate radius of trunk to be +- 3m, the canopy +- 25m in width. Not sure which oak species it is without the leaves.

I'll join you, Kaia, sounds like fun!
Let's raid the #Brits again, like in ol' times. After #Sunak, anything will be like a holiday.

What is the source BTW?

After their defeat and loss at #Copenhagen in 1807, the #Danes responded by planting 90,000 #oak trees toward the #Navy's rebirth. The #Danish Nature Agency, successor to the royal forester, informed the Defense Ministry in 2007 that their trees were ready."

Friends, several cool photos of the same grove of root delivered themselves to my lens today. What is your preference -- pick one, which really isn't going to be easy, or just post em all? I am hoping you choose "all" but I do respect your time restraints. They're just so dang interesting from every angle.

Questo albero lo chiamiamo “Equilibrio”. È una quercia che a Bertonico, dove abito, sembra stare proprio in equilibrio tra due campi diversi, divisi da una roggia.
È una ispirazione per come andrebbe affrontata la vita.

Most of the leaves are off the trees, except for the oak leaves, which are mostly red--orange-brown with bits of green.

The green part of this oak leaf didn’t get the “autumn memo” because of the activity of Ectoedemia heringi leaf miners.
The miner blocks off the chlorophyll return valves in the leaf with the help of some bacteria, extending the growing season for the larva 🐛
