Vorschlag: #newpipe, #libretube, #freetube bzw. im Browser #piped oder #invidious nutzen, um YouTube zu schauen. In den Apps gibt es auch tolle Einstellmöglichkeiten. Viel Spaß beim Entdecken.
Funny thing... I always knew #Piped is decentralized, like #Invidious. But for ~3 years I knew only one instance address, second one I accidentally saw here. And I absolutely don't know where to look for more. :blobcatjoy:
entrambi i progetti sono ottimi, al momento #piped ha meno problemi tecnici ma con #invidious si possono avere le anteprime e far partire i video direttamente dalle pagine mastodon, a voi la scelta!

Visto l'accanimento contro invidious è stato attivato il servizio Piped sostitutivo che permette di accedere e condividere tutti i video di youtube senza pubblicità e senza essere spiati:

So, #Youtube changed something (again) on their part and now #Invidious – a front-end for Youtube without tracking and advertising – (again) cannot play their videos.
Error message: “The video returned by YouTube isn't the requested one. (Android client) (VideoNotAvailableException)”
“Problemlos” würde ich #NewPipe jetzt nicht nennen. Der PII-Mißbrauch durch Google ist zwar weniger heftig, da zumindest client-seitig kein tracking mehr stattfindet, auf Server-Seite jedoch sehr wohl präsent und weiterhin kritisch.
Wer statt Youtube links proxies von #invidious oder #piped verwenden möchte, soll sich redirect add-ons wie #LibRedirect zulegen. Direkt proxy links zu posten finde ich fragwürdig. Das sollte jeder selbst für sich entscheiden.
@Rodeo I've been using #piped as my alternative front-end to #youtube for like a year, and it's working fine. I don't use the official instance though; however, I did notice that the API was down for a couple of days (at least the subscription feed).
You can choose one from their instance list. Obviously, you are putting your trust to the instance owner.
Just tried #Piped for #Youtube and I found it slower than molasses. Tried creating my account and uploading my subscriptions. Worked for about 10 minutes and then wouldn't load anything.
Am I doing something wrong or am I getting a front-row seat for the deadly dance between YouTube and other front-ends?

Invidious and Piped are really awesome tools for watching YouTube videos anonymously! But it's really annoying that the video is almost full screen on both of these by default, and I can't find any way to make them smaller. Ctrl++/- don't affect the video at all. The default video box on YT is much smaller, and on Invidious/Piped the video quality is worse, so it's more important to have the video be smaller, but instead it's huge.

Last days, I improved a bit PeerTube Companion, the Web #Extension helping you to know when a video you're watching on #YouTube is also available on #PeerTube.
Last versions improved compatibility with #Invidious and #Piped, added the ability to get redirected in more situations, and provided a new Notification mode.
This mode notifies you when there is a video instead of directly redirecting you to PeerTube.
Auch deswegen nutze ich YouTube nicht direkt, sondern Links über @invidious* oder nutze es mobil via @newpipe*, um Videos zu sehen und so weit frei vom Tracking zu sein. Leider sind noch nicht sehr viele anregende Videoproduktionen im Fediverse zB auf @peertube vertreten.
