It looks like StandardNotes is joining forces with Proton.

Ich werde oft gefragt, warum ich E-Mail-Anbieter wie Proton Mail oder Tuta nicht empfehle. Weil der Zugang über IMAP nicht möglich ist, was ich für sehr wichtig halte. Ich möchte nicht auf den Browser oder Apps des Providers angewiesen sein. Ich weiß, dass Proton eine »Proton Mail Bridge« anbietet. Das funktioniert aber nicht bei jedem Client, vor allem nicht mobil. Daher: Keine Empfehlung von mir für die Anbieter.

If you want to receive #emails from arbitrary mail servers, please do think of switching to a mail provider less evil and less harmful to the whole ecosystem.
If I'd have to choose one myself, I'd probably try out #Protonmail at the moment. But I don't have personal experience with that so far. However, they seem to have the right attitude and philosophy. ✉️

I remember signing up for #Gmail all those years ago with glee. Back then, #Microsoft email via #hotmail was a hot mess, while #Yahoo email was slightly better—but only in the sense that 💩 is better than 💩 🔛 🔥!!
I am grateful that #Google launched Gmail as it did radically change my life for the better (privacy issues aside).
