Yesterday as Israel launched a ground invasion of #Gaza, he sent a letter to IDF soldiers invoking 10/7 & repeating "Remember what Amalek did to you" & "This is a war between the children of light & the children of darkness."
Biblical verses re Amalek "are among its most violent—& have a long history of being used by Jews on the far right to justify killing Palestinians.
God commands King Saul...to kill every person in Amalek"
Jacobs says that "while Hamas & Israel have committed war crimes, Israel’s actions do not meet the international standard of genocide. “It’s not a term that should be thrown around casually at all,” she explained, particularly against a people that have experienced genocide. Instead, Jacobs sees Netanyahu, who she described as “totally right-wing & incompetent,” referring to Amalek as yet another case of him “being irresponsible & inciting.”
In other conflicts children are be able to be bussed out or taken on trains or driven to other countries like they did in #Ukraine. The children of #Palestine are not given that option. #ceasefire and let cooler heads prevail. Or omg put me in a room with #Bibi and the Head of #Hamas I am so mad I can take them.
Hey, #Bibi, do #Israel's American supporters—like me—a favor: turn on the fucking water in all of Gaza, and turn on the power in the South. Neither of those things should interfere with the #IDF's ability to kill every last #Hamas member, which I hope they do with great efficiency.
@oakster@randahl I suppose I don’t see anything vaguely good in any sense at all, about the murderous #Bibi regime and their continuation of decades of horrific atrocity against the Palestinians.
It’s easy and human to be appalled by folks who chop off baby’s heads etc.
But I find it that it suits Bibi (& #Hamas in fact) completely, to have ongoing war: power comes from that. And those crimes of occupation need justice too.
In a bitter, ravaged Middle East where both sides seek to out-war-crime each other - #Hamas kills innocents, Israel rains down genocidal hellfire on a trapped populace - moral distortions and misinformation keep pace with atrocities. For the record: Hamas is not #Palestine; #Bibi and his gang of racist thugs are not #Israel; sometimes evil, whether dressed in the language of liberation or righteous vengeance
Quite remarkable that, if these reports end up being confirmed, this was a widely planned attack, and that #Mossad was so unprepared.
“Details of the operation were refined during several meetings in Beirut attended by #IRGC officers and representatives of four Iran-backed militant groups, including #Hamas, which holds power in #Gaza, and #Hezbollah, a Shiite militant group and political faction in Lebanon, they said”
Trump trying to capitalize on Hamas attack reminds the world how he brought peace to the Middle East. LOL. All he and Jared did was have a confab with like-minded autocrats, like Netanyahu and "Bonesaw" Bin Salman. #Trump#JaredKushner#Peace#MiddleEast#Hamas#Bibi#BinSalman
