today I found out from some #birding friends that the yearly World Series of Birding (yes, this is a big deal) took place recently in Wildwood, New Jersey.
Guess what else was going on at the same time.
His last minute Trash Convention. 🤣🤦♂️
the report is that a lot of MAGA rally goers:
got absolutely gouged on hotels they probably can't afford like the Red Roof (cap?) Inn
My 6 year old says he saw a kiwibird, but we live in Oregon, USA. I'm trying to find similarly shaped birds to show him so we can figure out what it was but although we loved the woodcock dance videos (thanks Mom!) they don't live on this coast. Any other ideas?
Boosts great if you've got birder friends who might have good ideas!
I'm completely fascinated by the activity surrounding the bird feeder, which has been out for a month, tops. They all fled when the lawn mower came through and for about an hour afterwards. No birds in sight, then Mr Cardinal stands on top of the patio umbrella and sings in each direction. Not only does his lady show up, but all the fox sparrows and chickadees. He gave the all clear for all the birds #birding#backYardBirds
Here's another of my favorite #bird photos from our recent #camping and #birding trip. This is a Prothonotary Warbler and one of my favorite species. They are sometimes called swamp canaries because of their preference for wet habitats. #birds#nature#wildlife#Wisconsin
The Hungarian Ornithology Society has these collectible pins they sell for donations at various locations around Hungary. There are more than 300 species included, but the catch is, they don't tell you which pins you can find at which locations.
Today I went on a scavenger hunt and managed to find a care at the fourth try 😄 Yay!
