"Mystery interwined in a pioneering supernatural world. It can easily make a fantastic bestseller."

"As I reach the edge of the opening, my blood pressure is rising. Never have I seen something like this before."
Marquise Gertain, THE HIDDEN FACE by M. I. Verras
This may be a silly question, but how does one actually read short story collections? Is it the same as if reading a novel? Do you put the book down between every story? Do you look for connections between the stories? Am I supposed to read them linearly?
Do you know of a book recommendation engine that will suggest fiction books based on the non-fiction books I read and like?
I want to get more into fiction, and it’s been hard to nail down books that can keep my interest beyond the first few chapters. Thanks in advance! And please boost for wider exposure. #bookworm#books#bookrecommendations

Random question: how are you using the #fediverse? I have my main account where I post all kinds of things (but I'm a #ttrpg dm at heart). I have a pixelfed account where I post random b/w pictures. I have another automated account where I post some rss feeds. And my blog is federated as well.
But how are you guys using it?
I for example didn't get into #bookworm or #funkwhale at all, the latter I don't even really get the use for.
Hanging out with a friend, officially my first social Saturday in years (though we've hung out on weekdays before). Trifecta of great convo with a fellow introvert, great food and bookstore met.
Top-notch instant ramen and buffalo wings for dinner while watching DS9 s3, "The House of Quark" which had me laughing so loud.
The fact that it's a Saturday Night and I'm about to crawl into bed with a book.
