Ein Food-Foto, wie es nicht sein sollte. Das Fotografieren hat Spaß gemacht, die Dutch Babies waren lecker & die Nachbearbeitung war einfach, aber dann bemerkte ich, dass die mittlere Gusseisenpfanne völlig falsch stand. 🙈

A food photo done wrong. Taking the photo was fun, the Dutch Babies tasted great & editing was a breeze. But then I noticed the middle cast-iron pan was totally misplaced. 🙈

I'm reading in the newspaper "I have finally mastered a recipe for bao buns – but they take almost five hours", and enjoying that I have the simplest ready-made potato salad in the fridge, left over from a museum festival. We volunteers comply with the law against food waste: we're all eating potato salad right now. 😊 Would be enough for a five hour TikTok video. 😂

Tonight's dinner was, "Use up stuff I'm almost out of."

In this case I warmed up frozen raviolis and meatballs in the microwave while I cooked some onions in olive oil with basil and thyme. Then I added fresh spinach and butter and cooked it with just enough heat to wilt the spinach a little.

Finally I combined everything with parmesan and mozzarella cheese and a scoop of sour creme and put the whole mess back in the microwave for a few minutes.

Served in the cooking bowl with pepper.

Trying to get away from buying heavily processed vegan meat substitutes and making more use of tofu.

My go to is pressing and thinly slicing firm tofu into strips, and marinading in dark soy sauce, maple syrup and whatever spicy sauce I have. I then air fry them for about 7 minutes.

The Syrian style shawarma (not stated on the menu) at Palmyra in the Haight is indeed the closest thing I’ve had to a Damascus style shawarma. There are fries in it :) it’s better than their standard shawarma on the menu

I also love their hummus, kibbeh and tabbouleh. Much better than much more expensive middle eastern spots around

Last meal in Atlanta

Breakfast of over easy eggs, grits, biscuit and a sausage. Not pictured, sauteed kale because I need my greens. Friend got pancakes with bananas. The pancakes were really good!

The biscuit is good too (it's usually too dry when I had it in the past)

It was a little trippy to hear Indonesian music as we were eating 😆

And then I ended up chatting a bit with the waiter, who is Indonesian who thought I was too because I was like omg who chose the music! (No, I didn't recognize them, but I did not expect to hear Indonesian music)

This pic is not all... The noodles came later and I think we did order more stuff (this is all for two people, but I have a very good holiday stomach, and only the bok choy was left unfinished by the end)
