A gift for #foundation (AppleTV+) fans who have completed season 2.
I made a video of a scene written but not produced for budget reasons. It features Hari Seldon and Poly Verisof. It's obviously very spoilerish. It takes place just before the last scene of the season.
I'm glad David S. Goyer shared it, because clearly Poly's narrative arc was missing an ending.
I just read an unimaginably stupid article asking why #SciFi always envisions a capitalist future and demanding that science fiction must break away from it. My response to that is simple: science fiction IS a critique of #Capitalism It, as a genre, exists in response to capitalism, not divorced from it. Think of every science fiction universe that you have ever fallen in love with: #StarWars#StarTrek#Expanse#Foundation#Dune etc. Almost all of them present a vision of the future either after rejecting capitalism, languishing under it, or exploring the reality of a post-capital fascistic and/or feudal society. Science fiction begs us to grapple with contemporary issues or yearn for a world where those issues do not exist, just as every literary movement has before it. To loudly proclaim that science fiction must cease capitalist critique because it is overplayed is an admission that you do not understand the genre.
I'm finally watching the Foundation series on AppleTV. I'm really enjoying it. Although I suck at reading fiction its making me want to read the books. However the CW is that the series is not much like the books. So I wonder how much I'd actually enjoy them. #Foundation#scifi#fiction#IsaacAsimov

The spaceship designs in this sophomore season are as wonderful as in the first, if not more so. #scifi#foundation#spaceship#conceptart#appletv
To celebrate the end of #Foundation Season 2 (AppleTV+), I've updated my piece on the first season's ships with new information and concept art, notably from Supervising Art Director William Cheng.
The Season 2 ships article will be published... when it's finished. 😁

The Nobel Foundation announced on Sept. 2 that it would not invite Russian, Belarusian, or Iranian ambassadors to Sweden to the Nobel Prize award ceremony in Stockholm.
I know #Foundation TV show is not much related to original Isaac #Asimov's books, but OMG I'm enjoying it!
Probably the fact that they are not following the books but writing a different story within same context is making me eager to know more and enjoying it a lot!
It has been a while since I've had so much fun with a #scifi TV show!
So I finally decided to watch Foundation on Apple TV+ to see what it was all about.
I sat patiently through the entire 69 minutes of the first episode, and not once did I see a liquid, cream, or powder makeup applied to the face and neck to create an even, uniform color to the complexion, or hear someone say "Because you're worth it".
All smoke and no makeup mirrors. Truly disappointing.
Looking to start new series for the coming year (second poll). Can you help me out #Bookstodon? Because you can only have for poll topics on Mastodon, this is the second poll asking for recommendations. I'll take the top two from both polls and do a final four poll. Go to the comments for a link to the first poll.

Well, that was some fine character drama. Poor Brother Dusk, although he really was a clever bastard in the end. Poor Demerzel. Great payoff with Brother Day. Another big time skip. Now to wait for season three, but at least we’ll get the fourth season on For All Mankind in a couple of months… #foundation
