BitWarden's "Lack" Of Self Hosted Site Support

BitWarden is my password manager of choice, I use it a lot. But one thing I find frustrating and honestly, nonsensical, is why it doesn’t support ports out of the box? I have a bunch of services on different ports and would hope BitWarden would recognise that, but it doesn’t? It’s not a huge thing as I can always search,...

You may want to look at setting the match detection. Setting the match detection to “host” should match on specified port numbers. bitwarden.com/help/uri-match-detection/

I switched to FireFox today. I really liked Microsoft Edge but when I went to look up a saved password in the application I could not. Instead I was shown a QR code and told to install some mobile app in order to get access.

No doubt Microsoft trying to leverage whatever they can to get onto more devices, capture more tracking data.

Of course the data is still stored locally, Edge can still access it, as can the FireFox import wizard.

As with terrorists and extortionists: don’t negotiate.

@adamcrussell My are too important to be locked into a specific web browser or operating system, so I use : https://bitwarden.com/download/

If you don't like syncing to their cloud, you can host the sync server yourself: https://bitwarden.com/open-source/#host-it-yourself

@beardedtechguy and I are considering moving from fully managed to fully hosted for our Mastodon server/instance.

I'm looking for suggestions of places where other admins who run their own fully hosted server.

Who do you host with?

What are the prices like?

Have you had any issues?

The more details you can provide, the better. Just trying to get ideas of where to look before we possibly make a jump.

How to a website in the ? I have a feeling the is a good place to ask 🙂

For decades I've had a hosting account with . Due to changing interests & lack of traffic is down to a handful visitors daily. Hence I will shut it down.

I do want to keep the domain and host a very simple landing page. Maybe just static HTML on a https connection.

I want to keep it simple and am willing to pay (a bit :ablobcatrave:). Where do I start?! Help is much appreciated!

Winter is approaching fast, but traces of autumn still remain, and this image that I took at the end of October captures, in my eyes, the turning point of the seasons. Bright autumn colours, enhanced by sunrise, dominate the scene, but hidden in the depths of the image are the first hints of snow. Soon after the colours vanished and white took over (at least for a day)

Since last night’s very high solar activity with awesome probability of seeing the aurora at my home got completely annihilated by not only thick clouds but fog as well, I had to opt for more classical autumn-scenes…
Not quite as spectacular as dancing lights in the sky, but still pretty in it’s own right.

Asking again about web who do you recommend for a US business website? I have a bunch of sites on DreamHost that I’ve been meaning to move elsewhere, since DH refuses to drop the fash/terf/hate sites they . My main needs are fast loading, high uptime guarantee, and some sort of ethics policy.

Boosts welcome, please!

Not quite so brightly coloured as the mountain-side during golden hour, but I really liked the colours of this birch-forest nonetheless.

for the next major release of league/uri the requirements for installing ext-intl will be removed. You do not need the extension to use the package. However if you are using i18n domains then yes you are require to have either the extension or a polyfill in place else the library will throw. This is not an ideal solution but all the other solution I thought about are ... suboptimal unless proven wrong.

aaand I finally got fully working on an only in . It was definitely more involved than I expected, mostly due to various outdated blog posts throwing me curve balls.

So I wrote an article to add to the myriad of other articles! I'm using my blog to document stuff I'll get back to, so I expect to keep it somewhat updated.

Next step: look at docker swarm + GlusterFS... and then decide if automating things makes sense.

In my business, it can be seen as a bit shameful to admit, but I need to drum up some work at the moment. So if you need an actor, or a host/ MC, please check out this link and hit me up (or my agents anyway). Thank you! 🙏💚 https://linktr.ee/TaraFlynn

Since they have such an extensive catalogue I'll do things differently this time, allowing myself more time between the records so that I can catch up with other stuff as well.

I already started with their debut which was to my surprise a Death Metal record. A quite slow one, so I guess that's Death Doom then?

Verdict: 2,5/5 (solid, won't listen to it again)

There is nothing left from where they started 7 years earlier with Lost Paradise, but that doesn't need to be a bad thing. I find this album as entertaining as their debut, just in a very different way.

Dark Rock ist still not really my thing, so I'll probably won't add this into my rotation. 2,5 out of 5.

Ranking:

  1. Draconian Times 4
  2. Icon 3,5
  3. One Second 3
  4. Lost Paradise 2,5
