Tired of insta and etsy, starting my mastodon journey today!
So let me do an #introduction post. I make ceramics and porcelain in a small studio in Berlin.
Sometimes practical, but mostly experimenting with the artistic side.
German and English are not my native, so expect me to translate a lot.
Hey y'all tag my ass when yall popping y'all shit and imma share and Boooooost no cap 🙌🏾
Welcome to da fediverse 🙏🏿
Y'all get a super boost if yo post supports Black Lives ❤️ #introduction#introductions#blackmastodon#BlackFedi
New instance, new introduction. Hello, I am Adam from Ottawa Canada. I am a totally blind man, identifying as he/him.
My primary interests are technology and music. I was a former professional drummer, playing the bar stages of Ottawa and the ocasional out-of-town show.
I've always been rhythmical, annoying the heck out of my parents at the tendor age of four on up banging on pots, pans, spoons, and whatever else I could get my grubby little hands on.
I got my first drum kit when I was 12, back in 1999. I got a couple of upgrades over the years, and then switched to electronic kits in 2007 when I managed to save and purchase a Roland TD-12 kit with my own money. That was like buying a car for me, LOL.
I was professionally active from 2007 until 2019.
Some hearing issues with extended loudness causing anxiety and unease started my issues with playing live shows, and then COVID19 really finished that career.
I've been interested in technology from a young age as well, receiving my first electronic note taker for the blind, a Blazie Engineering Braille Lite in 1996 at the age of 9.
I then got my first computer in the summer of 1998, learned DOS, then eventually Windows 3.1, 95, and on up.
I've had many, many, many computers and other technological devices since those days, and I have done any serious compute work in Linux, where in I am mostly referring to running servers, hosting things, and distributed compute projects.
Professionally, I am currently a systems/server administrator, backend web developer, database administrator, and infrastructure administrator.
Other interests include animals, documentaries, listening to most kinds of music, having deep intellectual conversations, and pondering the meaning of life. #Mastodon#Introduction#Ottawa#Canada#Blind#Music#Technology
I'm a hyperlexical AuDHD with cPTSD and EDS. Whew! A generation ago I just would have been Asperger's.
I'm an autodidactic polymath.
I'm some kind of online oracle, but don't know how or why. I'm probably one of those fucked-up CIA experiments from the 70s. They make movies about me.
I was raised atheist. The Matrix is religious power, albeit run by secular agency, and I was born outside it. I'm stuck in the desert of the real.
We're brand new here, so we thought we'd thought we'd share an #introduction !
Who we are: a 25-year old non-profit vet clinic in the East Bay dedicated to making high-quality surgical care accessible to all.
What we do: We never turn anyone away for lack of funds: since 2014, Animal Fix Clinic has performed more than 50,000 life-saving and life-changing spay/neuter surgeries at low or no cost.
Even though our work focuses on helping animals, it's really about helping people make good decisions for the animals they love without considering cost. We keep pets with their families where they belong.
Right now, we're working to renovate the former Contra Costa Pinole shelter into our full-time, permanent home!
Why you should follow us: We know that many of you love #catsofmastodon and #dogsofmastodon so we hope we can become friends.
We promise cute pictures and progress of construction on our new clinic.
Quick introduction now that I've moved to Mastodon Music.
Swiss-based musician - bass, guitar, key, vocals of varying competencies. Played in Sydney in the 80s, Brisbane in the 90s, Myspace in the 00s + a rogue folk-acoustic set somewhere in there, nothing at all in the 10s!, and now active again. Several solo, collaborative and band activities locally and in Australia.
Also trying to recover all my old friends after the unexpected move, so boosts appreciated.
Since I've just moved accounts, it's time for a new #introduction post!
I've been a furry for an uncomfortably long time. I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for a couple of decades, but moved to the Seattle area in 2015. I'm into software engineering, vintage electronics, and coffee.
Sometimes I pretend to know what's going on, but it's all a clever ruse.
Le site ayant maintenant atteint son rythme de croisière, nous prenons le temps de communiquer.

Hello everyone! Consider this an #introduction post! Not used to post pictures online, but with my growing interest of the #fediverse, I thought I might as well try #Pixelfed, so here we go!
my name's lylani. i'm a 25-year-old artist and writer from london who recently started my own FLINTA+ focused, "if you know, you know"-modelled masterbrand called OF THE BABES.
i've joined the fediverse after recently becoming disillusioned with the innate bigotry demonstrated by algorithmic platforms, so I hope this will wet my whistle 😳
Just for completeness: I'm Cato, a fluffy lynx, I like to hack and build large displays, small electric vehicles, and whatever else is interesting. I like coding in mostly C, Python, and C#. Love hugs, cuddles, and making people happy :3
Please don't hold it against me but I'm a white CIS hetro male. But I'm a LGBTQ2S+ Ally, and believe in progressive, social justice politics.
I believe we need to scrap the Capitalist economic system for something that values everyone not just the elite. We need to dispell the disbelief that Democracy can only work in a capitalist society.
We also need to bring back the respect for science and intelligence, that conservatives the world over denigrate. And with that actively bring climate change under control.
Furthermore we need to listen to science when it comes to our health. Masks work! Vaccines work! And another pandemic will come and if we don't learn from our mistakes it will be far worse than COVID is.
I'm so used to using the bird website and anything I care to follow is over there. Genuinely don't know what to even follow here. I guess I mostly have this as a back up of some sort?
Just kinda feel like I'm yelling into the void over here
@absolute_G0blin It looks like it's your third day on the Fediverse. It's a different paradigm here that takes a lot more manual exploration. Make a post with the #introduction tag so people with an eye out for new people can see that you're here and have a little more of a clue what you're about. From there the void you shout into gets less empty.
I also strongly recommend checking out the @FediTips and @FediFollows accounts, along with their associated sites (https://fedi.tips and https://fedi.directory respectively). They are really excellent resources operated by one of the most selfless volunteers on the fediverse
