⭐(& other reaction buttons) are the❤️button but this only tells the author I like their post, nobody else. It does not make the post more visible.
🔁Boost🔁Repost etc moves info around. That shows the post to my followers home feed.
There is no algorithm deciding for us. We choose, not some algorithm under corporate control. We choose by 🔁boosting🔁 posts and by using #hashtags. More things get seen here. Wider ranges of conversation topics happen here. It's more organic, much more human.
Auch wenn #Mastodon keine algorithmische #Timeline hat, gibt es gute Möglichkeiten, die interessantesten/beliebtesten/besten(?) Beiträge darin leicht zu finden:
Ich benutze auch die "Angesagt" Funktion bei #Fedilab von #fdroid. Dort werden die zurzeit meist genutzten Hashtags angezeigt und die Tröts mit vielen Sternchen und/oder boosts.
Jetzt da bei @heiseonline Änderungen anstehen, die sich auf die Zugriffszahlen auswirken dürften (Abschaltung der automatischen Boosts) ist es mal wieder Zeit für einen Zwischenstand:
Ehrlich gesagt sehe ich insgesamt keinen klaren Trend: Während die Followerzahl weiter steigt und bald die 50.000 knackt 🥳 ist bei den Zugriffszahlen über #Mastodon lediglich der Abstiegstrend gestoppt. Andererseits ging es bei #Twitter zuletzt sogar stärker herunter.
Bei den Interaktionen auf #Mastodon geht es dagegen kontinuierlich zurück, das ist natürlich nicht so schön. Vor allem vor dem Hintergrund, dass seit der weitgehend automatischen Befüllung ja viel mehr Links auf Mastodon geteilt werden, es also viel mehr Beiträge zum Interagieren gibt. Auch die Followerzahl steigt ja.
Einschränkend muss ich aber schreiben, dass ich nur #Likes und #Boosts zählen kann, eventuell würde sich das Bild ändern, wenn ich Kommentare zählen könnte.
• People are having fun. People clearly missed using Twitter to shitpost.
• There are no norms yet. Nobody uses content warnings, nor is there a built-in feature for content warnings.
• Nobody uses alt text. Nobody gets scolded for not using alt text. Right now, Bluesky seems like a nightmare for blind and low-vision people.
• It's eery to see known abusers on Bluesky who I've had blocked for years, without the ability to block them.
• It's only a matter of days before violent right-wing accounts like Ady Ng show up on Bluesky. They WILL be allowed on, and they WILL build large followings, and the content moderation and privacy tools of Bluesky are not yet up to the task.
I just hit two million likes on TikTok. This is insane. That's in the same wheelhouse as Margaret Cho (2.2M), twice as many as Marc Maron (868k), more than Kathy Griffin (1.3M), more than Patrick Stewart (1.3M), and four times as many as noted narcissist Jennifer Weiner (485k).
Not bad for an obscure and self-effacing middle-aged bald dude in Brooklyn!
And look I'm not going to let this go to my head. I'm chalking all this up to a fluke, but does this mean I now qualify for Raya or that more people will return my calls? 🤣
Mein erste Bilanz von @heiseonline auf #Mastodon ist fast zwei Monate her, Zeit für ein Update.
Und eins vorweg, auch wenn es hier insgesamt wieder merklich ruhiger geworden ist, bleiben die Zahlen ziemlich stabil: Die Zugriffszahlen über Mastodon liegen weiterhin etwas unter #Twitter, aber zur Erinnerung, ich kann nur die Zugriffe über unsere hauseigenen Accounts auf #Mastodon mit Zugriffen von #Twitter insgesamt vergleichen. Die tatsächlichen Zahlen liegen also noch enger zusammen.
@heiseonline Die Zahl der Interaktionen (#Boosts und #Likes, keine #Kommentare) mit den Beiträgen von @heiseonline stagniert zwar, bleibt damit aber gleichzeitig deutlich über denen auf Twitter. Immer noch finde ich nur vier Beiträge von heise-Accounts auf Twitter, die mindestens 50 mal geteilt wurden, auf Mastodon sind es ganze 125 (!). Gleichzeitig geht auf #Mastodon aber nichts wirklich #viral, die Ausschläge nach oben bei den Einstiegen liegen auf Twitter deutlich höher.
