If I plan on setting up #Peertube, should I shut down my #Owncast instance? I haven't seen a stream on Peertube yet, not sure which is "better" for livestreams.

I wonder if companies other than #meta could join the #fediverse without the same pushback. For instance, if #steam decided to do something like #owncast for live-streaming video games or if #apple built something akin to #peertube or #pixelfed, how much pushback would they receive?
Actively on my own mind atm are recent events on the #fediverse, economic instability, and the overwhelming legislative attacks on the #trans community. What's on y'alls minds?

Since I'm still new to Federation, I'm looking at different places - Lemmy.world was my first landing place, but I'm checking out kbin.social and this microblog feature.
Always good to try new stuff. Just like sticking to a strict drug regimen - keeps my mind limber.

I'm sure I'll stay on #mastodon myself; I dig the news agencies I've gotten connected to like #NPR and #ProPublica.
Hoping to move to a more federated existence online - on my list of things to try is #owncast for my twitch replacement and vids at #tilvids or some #peertube instance.
I wish I had somebody else seriously involved with Owncast. It would be amazing to have somebody to share things with, positive or negative. But there's nobody else in the world who cares, or even understands the nitty gritty day to day that I can talk to. I'm sure there's people who would listen, but nobody would care.
Even though the shift is small, it's big enough. It's incredible watching the Fediverse grow; first with the Birdsite flocking to #Mastodon, and now with #Lemmy and #Kbin growing in popularity (I only recently learned about Kbin)... this type of growth is enough to kickstart more people coming over here.
I'm looking forward to #Tumblr maybe joining sometime soon (oh, the memes you can see!), maybe some prominent Twitch people will try out #Owncast, maybe I can get some of my family over here...
Monthly slot Unpopular Stream starts the show this week with the usual electronic peculiarities, followed by another episode of @jumboshrimp's Catch of the Week - who knows what's taken his fancy this time.
I want to find more people using #Owncast, but it seems like it's just as hard (if not harder) as finding new #PeerTube channels! :blobcatsadlife: #Discovery is a difficult part of the #Fediverse and #Federated platforms in-general.

@owncast When I click to enable or disable the "established users" chat thing it says success but always clicks back to "On".
