2024 is days away 😊 I made a calendar for the S.O.S. Quebec Newf Rescue - they rescue Newfoundland dogs - please consider supporting them by acquiring it. I donated my watercolour paintings of the wonderful giant Landseer who was known as Chuck 🤍🖤🤍. There’s a 40% Zazzle sale now.
NEW: ‘Tis the season to find more animals homes! We’re holding a fee-waived adoptathon for all #dogs aged 1 and up next week at all of our adoption centers. The event comes amid an ongoing national dog population crisis that’s putting thousands at risk of euthanasia for nothing more than lack of a home 1/
Hiking with Argo is always fun! This smiling big boy is still looking for a foster or for his family. Can you find a place in your heart for him?
4 years, 62 lbs, male
Fun Facts: Loves fetch and long walks. Will be a perfect hiking buddy! Knows sit, down, paw.
Need to Overcome: Jumping up on people when anxious.
Cats? Unknown
Dogs? Yes, but no concept of personal space
NEW: We’re holding a fee-waived adoptathon this weekend for our underdogs–animals that are older, have some medical issues or physical challenges, or are just generally in shelters longer. That includes some cats and dogs, as well as rabbits, guinea pigs, roosters and more! #rescuepets#rescuedogs#rescuecats#dogs#cats#boston#methuen#capecod#salem 1/
Senior pets are often the last to be adopted, but they have so much to offer! Senior pups can be great walking buddies, and older cats are just as cuddly and playful as their younger counterparts. Learn more about why senior pets are awesome on our website: https://www.mspca.org/pet_resources/adopting-a-senior-pet/
This poor baby had dental surgery today. She had 8 teeth pulled, and the rest of them cleaned.
Because she was a rescue we don't know what her start in life was like.. but our guess is that it was fairly traumatic. I'm fairly sure she was kept in a tiny cage because she runs in tight circles when she's anxious or excited, and I think she was beaten and had little to no food.. so my guess is that her poor dental condition is due to malnutrition as a puppy.
She's doing well, and she's going to feel SO much better now.
That’s right, we’ve got tons of puppies in need of homes! See who’s available on our website and stop by open hours at any of our four shelters to adopt 🐶 ❤️ 🏡
😍 My #dogs Ginger (left, male) and Jane (right, female) are very fond of each other, always hanging out and playing together.
Both are #rescuedogs. Ginger came to me four and a half years ago.
Two years later, when I wanted a second dog, I allowed Ginger to choose his companion.
The moment he met young Jane, it was clear that she was The One. 🥰
They're such happy dogs, it's a joy to watch them.
NEW: More than two dozen #dogs are now resting and recuperating at all four of our shelters following their emergency flight from Texas to #Massachusetts yesterday afternoon. The pups had been living at a small rescue organization whose owner no longer was able to care for them 1/ #dogsofmastodon#rescuedogs
He only has one ear, so he makes it count for communicating. I don't know what happened to the other one. He's a rescue. I call this move giving "the ear". #dogsofmastodon#dogs#rescuedogs#happy
NEW: Nearly 40 pups from #Texas are recovering from their long journey to #Massachusetts as we get set for our next fee-waived adoptathon! The dogs arrived in #Bedford last weekend and were immediately brought to the Northeast Animal Shelter to serve out their quarantine and get checked out 1/
Beginning Monday in #Salem and Tuesday in our #Boston, #Methuen, and #Cape shelters, adoption fees will be waived for all dogs aged 1 and up that weigh at least 40 pounds, because everything is bigger in Texas! The event runs through June 9th.
It’s the first of three special summer adoption events we’re holding in the coming months. Head to http://www.mspca.org/dogs for more info!
