I've dabbled with table-top role-playing games over the years, playing a lot in the 80s and 90s . I have some great memories of adventures with friends - but I've struggled with the time commit required from a GM.
One of my favourite systems was #Rolemaster. After a few games of D&D in mid-80s highschool, we switched to the way more technical Rolemaster and, with a genius-level DM, we played the hell out of that system.
I read that Rolemaster is stagnating and that another system, Against the Darkness, had picked up the mantle, leaving behind the legacy debt to a splintered fanbase.
I started out on the fediverse arooooound...I wanna say 2017/18 mebbe? My big start in social media was MySpace. Before that, I had a LiveJournal (which I miss mightily with all my heart). My very first computer was a Gateway PC, back when they shipped them to you in those awesome cow spot pattern boxes. I am trying to de-google my life.
I'm #ADHD and suffer from #dysthymia. I'm currently unmedicated. I can be damned moody at times, so there's your warning.
Religiously/spiritually speaking, I'm complicated. That will be a long post, when I get around to writing it. My general rule is: I have my thing. It's not everybody's thing, and that's cool. Not everybody's thing is my thing, and that's cool. Just don't be a wanker towards those whose thing ain't your thing. OM 🕉
I'm 57 years old and have come to the conclusion that we never truly appreciate the decades we grew up in until we hit middle age.
I'm single and childless, hence my user tag: TheLastOfHisName.
Fantasy world where they have been breeding dragons to be smaller and smaller until they have little toy dragons that can sit in your lap and are popular among noble ladies and if you leave them unattended in a home they will gather up all the low denomination change under dressers and such and push them into a corner to make a tiny $4.78 hoard to sit on
@mcc funny tidbit #TTRPG#Rolemaster bestiary (Creatires & Treasures vol III?) has exactly that: dragonettes.
They come in all varieties of their larger cousins, but with proportionate breath and magic that is more prosaic and quirky. Whereas dragons considered genius level intelligence, dragonettes are nore... pet like.
But it could be, if you desire to play a character with a dragonette. Who so happens to like to flame crème brulé. As a hobby, you know. They're quirky like that.
Please respond by saying what sorts of TTRPG things you're pretty likely to either talk about or respond to if you see them.
This can be a list of games (D&D! Tribe 8! Fate!) or categories (the weirdest of indie stuff! NSR! Anything PBtA!), topics (Worldbuilding! Publishing!), stuff you're making, meta-commentary (The State Of The Industry), and so on.
Then maybe share, and if the replies are building up, check them for new people.
