Israel—a terrorist state committing genocide in Palestine backed by the US, Canada, and the UK—has just destroyed the office building of the Belgian Agency for Development Cooperation in Gaza as retaliation a day after Belgium announced it would continue to fund the vital humanitarian work of UNRWA.
The Israeli gov is not only starving and denying medical care to 2 million Gazans, it’s announced openly and explicitly that it intends to target civilians and because of the savagery of Hamas’s attack, most of the world is supporting them unconditionally. They’ve been given carte blanche to commit war crimes. #israel#hamas#warcrimes
More than one million people from around the world have signed a petition by the human rights organization #Amnesty International, calling for an immediate ceasefire in #Gaza and accusing #Israel of "wiping out entire families."
The petition states, among other things, that The Israeli authorities continue to dehumanize Palestinians in their rhetoric, bombing crowded refugee camps, hospitals, UN-run schools, bakeries, mosques and churches, roads and civilian homes. Civilian hostages held by #Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza remain at risk, and indiscriminate rocket fire towards Israel endangers civilians.
No, you are not 'antisemitic' if you don't agree with what the right wing warmongering Israeli government is doing in #Gaza. Nor are you pro-Hamas if you care about Palestinians not being treated like subhuman and killed by the thousands. Nor are you anti-American if you don't agree with the hypocrisy of the US government's double speak. You are simply using your judgement to see through the enormous propaganda machine and trying to think like a human of the 21st century.
The same Israeli soldier has posted video clips showing soldiers arresting dozens of men, women and children who were stripped, blindfolded and handcuffed in areas across Gaza.
It only took one term for Biden - who voted for the Dubya Bush's invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan - to become a war criminal on par with Bush and Blair. Even Agent Orange, for all his many, many flaws, was not (as far as I'm aware) a war criminal. This cross-party panel don't all agree on much, but they all agree that cluster bombs are immoral and unjustified, in Ukraine or anywhere:
THREAD: This thread discusses the December 2020 forced expulsion of people inhabiting farming communities in a disputed border area claimed by both Ethiopia 🇪🇹 and Sudan🇸🇩. #Osint data appears to suggest that Sudanese troops may have carried out atrocities when it removed hundreds if not thousands of Ethiopians from the Al Fashaga triangle. Nobody has properly documented the expulsions and there's not enough evidence to draw conclusions.
#Israel now is directly targeting houses. Not high rises, not towers but small houses, where the argument of "Hamas infrastructure" does not stick. Most of the houses still standing in #Gaza host several families because of the high rate of displacement.
Today Israel bombarded 6 houses in Khan Younis, killing at least 30 children, women and men.
Satellite images in the below article show the extent of destruction.
Israel's restrictions on humanitarian aid for Gaza may amount to a starvation tactic that could be a war crime, the United Nations human rights chief said on Tuesday. The stark appraisal followed a U.N.-backed report on Monday saying famine is likely by May without an end to fighting in the more than five-month war between...
Gillian Anderson pulls out of conference after organiser writes: “War crimes are war crimes even when committed by allies, and should be called out for what they are.”
#theguardian / The ghost of apartheid has come back to haunt Israel and give hope to Palestinians
The parallel between the treatment of Palestinians by Israel and the apartheid regime in South Africa: a systematic campaign of oppression, dispossession, and violence against marginalized groups, language used to justify these systems and the ways in which they have been perpetuated over time. An international action is needed to address these issues and prevent further human rights abuses.
[…] Even as a teenage Zionist of the left in South Africa – before the illusions of that identity collapsed under the weight of their absurdity and I found my way into the ANC – my anti-apartheid inclinations made me especially uncomfortable that Israel was the apartheid regime’s closest ally. Many of us were appalled in 1976 when Israel hosted South African prime minister John Vorster, an avowed Nazi imprisoned during the second world war for his work in a paramilitary sabotage organisation linked to Hitler’s abwehr, his military-intelligence service. Even more so, later, when it turned out that Israel was negotiating arms deals with South Africa, which violated the UN arms embargo, and even cooperated on nuclear-weapons development.
Israel Accused of 'Blatant War Crime' as HRW Confirms White Phosphorus Used in Gaza
"Any time that #whitephosphorus is used in crowded civilian areas, it poses a high risk of excruciating burns and lifelong suffering," said one Human Rights Watch official.
Human Rights Watch on Thursday said it has confirmed reports that Israeli military forces unleashed white phosphorus munitions during artillery attacks on targets in #Lebanon and #Gaza this week
