The babies have made the side yard with all my gardening junk their playground. If I creep over there quietly I can catch them in their frolicking. You never know where a baby will pop up these days, it’s awfully cute!

The upper body of a baby pops up behind a round green pot, this baby has a very mischievous look on its face, it’s ready to learn all about squirreling. Maybe they are finding grubs in the pots or maybe it’s just playtime
This baby is in my pallet planter under the gigantic rosemary plant. It rests its chin on the wood edge gazing at a little green weed its thinking about tasting
The same squirrel in the pallet practicing its foraging skills, it has found an item it’s examining and sniffing, not sure what it is maybe an old buried peanut

This was a partial eclipse on August 21, 2017 as seen projected through a colander (onto a bamboo mat on the ground to make it stand out).

I'm out of town without a colander so ... Might have to settle for the TV version?

I'm in between. Also retired and I vaguely make myself do some of my "must do" to do list during the work week (when phone calls can be made etc), and vaguely have the fun to do's on the weekend.

Except much of the fun stuff I do during the week, the out of the house kind, when there will be fewer people hopefully than on weekends.

Reading? That depends. Sometimes definitely for nighttime and a thing to look forward to.

And, if I may add, on my own part as a lesbian married to a trans woman.

Choosing not to vote or to throw away your vote in a meaningless gesture says you're okay with everyone who has spent decades getting partial civil rights losing it all.

My family relocated across the USA in 1960 by plane. It was so new and so rare, we dressed up like for church and we kids got little wing pins.

of people period. And # people that moved from subsistence farming to consumer economies and the impact of that on - manufacturing, home heating/cooling, vastly increased global travel and shipping, etc etc. And those of us already in consumer economies that moved up to throw away products, fast fashion, and jetting across the country/world on whim (limited by $ on hand). And then the super rich flying 2 or 3 towns to avoid traffic

YouTube "shorts" is terrible in every way. It breaks everything. Videos won't embed on message boards. Systems used for a decade to save video IDs break. And YouTube FORCES any short video to be a short with these less useful, less shareable. URLs.

I'm not excited about using open source video servers. I'm very lazy and do not want to do any new things today. But, this is inspiring me.
