    @DrALJONES That proposal sounds eminently sensible, and is in accord with dozens of Resolutions and the will of the majority of the globe. As such, will greet this with derision, knowing they don't need to be sensible, nor moral, because the US will always cover for any and all crimes they care to commit. As we see at present, the will even cover for them committing .

Not only that, the vast majority of Israeli people either approved of, or demanded increased slaughter in Gaza late last year (according to a Tel Aviv Uni survey). This may have changed as more Israelis realised their Govt is increasing the chances of them, their children - & esp those in the - being killed as the conflict spreads.

    Of course there are other organisations. I know a bit about one (al Mubadara - the PNI) that has long advocated non-violence & a 2 state solution (although they are on the verge of giving up on the latter).
    Of course, hate PNI as , & arrested the Sec Gen (a Doctor) & smashed his knee with a rifle butt.
    It seems the only person who could successfully unite Palestinians is Marwan Barghouti, currently serving life sentences in Israel.

    In regard to the claim I have recently seen claims here that Palestine rejected the Oslo Accords. Not true. Palestine adhered to its part of the Agreement to recognise the existence of an Israeli State. Israel still does not recognise a Palestinian State
    The agreement set a time guideline of 5 years, during which time Israel would withdraw from the 1967 occupied Palestinian territories in accordance with UNSC Resolutions 242 & 338. It did not.

I believe the waves of mass immigration of people who had at best a mythical connection to the ME was largely a result of the conjunction of the desire of a) many European nations wanting to expel Jews in early 1900s b) justifiable fear of many Jews in pre and post-WW2 in Europe
    c) a desire for better economic conditions than eastern Europe offered after the break-up of the USSR in the 1990s.

The military wing of Hamas is engaged in a guerilla war against a brutal occupying power, and have stooped down toward the level of the enemy with their taking of hostages.(Note that has approx 7,000 Palestinian - many women and children - locked up without charges nor trial in their prisons).
