The speaker made “unequivocally” clear that he wants to avoid even a partial closure that's set to happen Saturday at midnight, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said."

Highly influential heritage foundation, which would help staff & direct a future Trump admin, literally said that a key conserv policy goal is “ending recreational sex.” they said it, not me. IMO we should take them both seriously & literally
In a 1962 segment of the classic "The Dick Van Dyke Show", in an episode regarding a pool shark, Mary Tyler Moore, in front of the live audience, was supposed to attempt a very difficult pool shot. Everyone knew she couldn't possibly make the shot successfully -- she was in no way an expert pool player -- so the plan was to film her beginning the shot, then cut away to an expert pool player who would actually complete it.
She only shot once. What happened is legendary, and it's remarkable that both actors maintained their composure so that the shot could actually be used. One in a million.
This article leaves out a couple of things. One, the people allegedly worried about kids and/or being “pro-life” interestingly aren’t bothering to pass any laws protecting them from things like this- Republicans keep loosening them.
Second, shutting down immigration makes labor shortages worse and that’s another Republican goal.
I’m a big believer that a kid in school should consider school their job till they’re old enough to drive. A part-time job consisting of working on weekends is acceptable but if they let their grades drop, the job ends.
I went to TJ Maxx to get some half priced Christmas candles, but their policy is they only give you 50% off if the cashier decides it looks Christmassy enough, even though everything I got rang up as December Seasonal and was in the 50% off area.

The automaker sought to blame drivers for vehicle ‘abuse,’ but Tesla documents show it had tracked the chronic ‘flaws’ and ‘failures’ for years.” https://www.reuters.com/investigates/special-report/tesla-musk-steering-suspension/
