Paramedic in the family kiboshed my usual bicycling route to the auto repair shop (the one with the bicycle lane), and told me to take the lesser traveled road WITHOUT bicycle lanes (due to slower traffic speeds...the bike lane route is 50mph limit but people frequently at 60mph+). Probably good advice. Hope the upgrade to separated lanes on that road will mitigate that issue somewhat. (although, no spindly traffic barrier will stop a car going 65mph, but it will reduce probability of sideswiping)

Finally exhausted my original supply of razor blades (straightedge), which I purchased on May 11, 2022 when I switched from crappy plastic (expensive) razors to straightedge razors. 100 razors lasted more than a year and a half for... $9.64 (plus the razor handle). And cuts better than anything else!
