A tiny pink blossom on a flower growing in the stonework of our stairway.
I posted a pic of these Camas flowers earlier, but they keep being gorgeous.
Not sure what plant this is, but it holds drops of water as though they were precious gems. Gorgeous.

Have found an old tablet which I'm trying to resurrect.

How old?

Samsung n8010 running 13 😱

Has sprung back to life and is charging incredibly slowly.

Managed to get a modern TWRP recovery on there, so hopefully can bring it up to an unofficial .

Not quite retrocomputing, but certainly a blast from the bast 🙂

I mean, they are all opinions. Some people are of the opinion that gay folks, people of color, or people who are different should not exist.

Not all opinions are valid, and not all are acceptable to society. They're still opinions. They're just wrong.

Some opinions are evil - opinions that deny the agency and personhood of others; hiding behind those evil opinions with words like "hey it's just my opinion man" is the empty defense of a bigot. It's an evil opinion. Don't have it.

Late dinner - A salad (ranch) of backyard broccoli blooms with arugula, romaine, cherry tomatoes, and a bunch of diced capers. Parmesan.

Our broccoli and kale tend to overwinter, so I clip the crowns (and about 8 inches of young stalk) of the old plants as they bloom new growth. Works with either plant, as they're both cultivars. Can do the same with young leaves.

Some amusing today - Goblin vs Demogorgon.

Demo (for once) did nothing wrong, Gobbo is just being a little orange shit. Love how his dumb little swipes are audible. They're getting closer to getting along with each other, honest. You can catch my wife on audio, laughing at the end.

A short video featuring two cats. The smaller orange one is relaxing on a heated pad in a box, and swats at the larger grey one a couple times before getting intimidated and running away. The grey one is just trying to hang out.

I work at EI (Federal Way office) and while they're not my favorite employer ever, they're a solid place to learn stuff.

Fairly old-fashioned company mindset (boo) but they've also never laid anyone off, which was appreciated during lockdown. I've been with them for 6 years now, moved from a tech support role into QA last year. Good luck with your search!

On the upper east everyone is health conscious so all the sweets in the confectioneries are diminutive in size. Something I get but my working class soul aches and howls that a box of dunken heins is three bucks. I’ll never get used to this world.

It's weird to me that we live in a society where luxury food spending (5 dollars for a donut, 45 for a cake) is equated/compared with subsistence food spending (beans, rice, vegetables, chicken - the basic stuff folks can generally afford) in general expense discourse.

Donuts are cheap - these are donuts with a 300+% luxury markup. They're selling the sense that you're more successful than you used to be. It tastes like lavender, pink salt, truffle oil, and capitalism.

I feel this sometimes. PNW folks are kinda unique though in that when the temperature finally breaks 65 in late May, you'll see folks flock to the beaches as though it's warm outside, powered only by hope and low standards.

We might be vampires, but we're enthusiastic about the 3 months of annual sunlight we get to enjoy.

  • Trump lairs there, probably offering tiny handjobs for cash
  • DeSantis roosts there, secured to the roof of his cave
  • Disney is crab-walking out of the state like Zoidberg
  • Books aren't allowed there anymore
  • Reproductive care options are basically just a Bible and a used condom

I mean... I know there are also liberal humans there, but it already feels like the ideal spawning ground for Fox executives.
