If you caught the stunning display of Aurora lights last night, please share pictures with us in the comment section? 😊✨🌌

We’ll go first. The pictures below are from Hølen in Norway taken by our Android Developer, Gabriel Janucik.

PS: If you’re using Vivaldi, you’ll find some spectacular themes when you search for “Aurora”: https://themes.vivaldi.net/browse?s=Aurora+

Would love to but it was cloudy in my area. I am told it may last a few more days, so I am hopeful.

Fox "News" with no evidence - "TERRORISTS coming from CANADA blew up a car filled with EXPLOSIVES!"

Canadian Conservative "Leader" with no evidence - "TERRORIST attack and explosion at the Niagara crossing of the Canada/USA border"

Reality - Couple in the USA were going to go to a KISS concert in Canada. It got cancelled so they went to a casino in the USA instead. After the casino they speed over an obstruction near the crossing in their ($300,000) Bentley and crashed.

@MeanwhileinCanada All I know is that the vehicle was coming from the US side to the Canadian side.

@molly0xfff Exactly why many still refrain from using it. Let's say your 80 and still have a Galaxy III you got ten years ago that works for phone... but this? You wouldn't even get an app that works.

Will the US ever truly compete with china on cyber and have the NSA create a song?

@Bing_Chris Would we do this... I think not. Too many agencies and companies wanting to be top dog. In this industry we are too competitive at least in my opinion.

Lots of smart and security-oriented folks are confused about what exactly a passkey is. There’s a good reason for that. We explain here: https://www.eff.org/what-is-a-passkey

greybeard,

@eff
Personally I have never found a password manager that worked on all my devices so this new secure login method is of little use to me.

@MeanwhileinCanada But it’s “Duck” Tape. Duct tape is the shiny stuff you actually use on duct joins.

This is Canopée, the world’s first hybrid industrial cargo ship, designed to transport Ariane 6 rocket parts from Europe to ESA's spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana.

The 121m-long, 22m-wide ship is powered by two 3,840kW diesel engines and four huge wingsails, 363 sq m each.

Significantly more powerful than conventional sails, these automated 37m-high vertical wings reduce average fuel consumption by ~30%.

Maiden voyage to Kourou in progress.

A reminder to people still using the deadbird site: Twitter is every bit as sleazy and harmful as the Daily Stormer or Breitbart. When you tweet, you bring legitimacy to a platform that rightly deserves to be ostracized. And sorry, but this applies to everyone, no matter your income level, race, gender identity, etc.

greybeard,
@greybeard@vivaldi.net avatar

@dangoodin That means companies too. They are the big supporters. Influencers mean nothing as we all know they have “PR” to manage all that.

“The threat is here; the time Orwell warned about is now.”

It never ceases to amaze & terrify me that in under 80 years, less than a human lifetime, we have allowed the putrid, lethal stench of fascism to return.

In the countries that destroyed it, in those that were destroyed by it, & in many others seemingly inspired by it.

And the populists will exploit the looming disaster of climate change to stoke hatred for their own narrow, short-term power & profit.

With all this AI talk from OpenAI and Facebook, you will think they will use AI tools, but guess what? AI can't tell anything; you need humans to verify flagged posts. The dark side of social media. Firm regrets taking Facebook and OpenAI moderation work. One employee, whose job was to read through huge volumes of text the chatbot was learning from and flag anything harmful, spoke to the BBC's Panorama. He said he was exposed to disturbing content. Link is below
