It still gets me the Bible Jesus is a homeless socialist with brown skin, hangs out with 12 dudes and a Prostitute, tells rich people to pay their taxes and give their wealth to the poor, tells the religious leaders that they need to love everyone equally, gets a whip and goes hog on people using religion to sell stuff, and then straight up gets murdered for these beliefs. Yet somehow churches act like he's some kind of Conservative Haircut in khakis and a button up, who would support cutting welfare programs, and would preach Prosperity Gospel.

Silly Story Time:

My husband has always been scared of spiders. If a spider needed removed I would be the one to deal with it, as I've always admired their work. For whatever reason, spiders love our Bathroom, and there always seems to be one or two in there no matter what hubs has tried to keep them out. So, I started naming them, I called one Henry, and I told hubs that he was really social, because every time you'd sit down on the toliet, he would pop out of his hole and just sit by your feet until you were done, then he'd crawl back. Another one would crawl out by the wall when you'd shower, and I told him that was Henry's wife Helena, and she was kind of a pervert, because she liked seeing people naked, but Henry didn't mind, because he liked them freaky. Whenever we would come out of the bathroom, we started giving updates about what Henry and Helena were up to. One day they disappeared, and we were both kind of sad, but last night hubs comes out of the bathroom, and says, Come look! He points to the wall by the toliet, and there is a little spider, and he says, Henry, he had a son! We are very excited about this development!

What y'all favorite album?
I got 2 , songs in the key of life and innervisions _ stevie wonder. My gramps got these on vinyl and played them over and over i remember as a kid. I just starting my vinyl collection and these are the first albums I bought! Classics and both released years before my ass was even born !

Okay since I'm talking old school internet, how differently do you interact with people now vs in early internet days? What do you miss about then? What do you like about now? Really whatever you want to reminisce about!

Okay, I was thinking about this, and I was like 16, and dudes would constantly send extremely sexually explicit messages without my consent all the time, and I'd just think, Oh well, this is how the internet is. I didn't think about how fucking weird that dudes twice my age were private messaging me. Now I'd tell them to fuck off and report them, but it just never occurred to me that I should back then.

I don't miss having to scan every single picture you wanted to post online. I remember us getting a Sony Maverick, and feeling like I was on the bleeding edge of tech, because I could take pictures directly on a floppy and put them on the computer.

I do miss some of the Wild West feeling of the internet, even though it had plenty of bad with the good.

I miss Hampster Dance Pranks, but I imagine you would be publicly shamed for that now, and rightly so! LOL

@RickiTarr i miss pizza parties with local BBS groups. i miss the rowdy IRC times, the room that was filled with regulars who hung out together every day, idling on the channel with the window in the background until someone showed up.

actually pre-web, i kinda miss gopher -- that was so conducive to the rabbit-hole (gopher-hole?) thing like we have with wikipedia now, except it was to very localized content, not just a huge general knowledge pool.

ascii art. the screech of 2400 baud. staying up until 3am chatting with someone on the other side of the world. green (or sometimes orange) letters on a black screen.

Does anyone else have trouble doing one thing at a time? Like if I'm doing chores it helps to have a podcast or talk to someone, or watching TV, I need to do something with my hands, like a little handy craft, or a simple game. I love movies, but the movie has to be absolutely fascinating for me to want to go to a theater where I just need to sit there and watch. I have a large amount of tabs open on my phone all the time and I flit back and forth through a bunch of different things. Weed helps calm this down a bit.

@RickiTarr no, i usually have the opposite problem -- i can ONLY do one thing at a time. i can't read if there's music on. or the television. i key into the audio and it distracts from everything else and i can't ignore it.

nor can i just "multitask" in the usual sense. sooner or later one ball is gonna get dropped and then it all comes falling down. it's probably why i suck at office jobs.
