Samuel Alito loves his flags! A second flag, this one showing a pine tree and the words "An Appeal to Heaven," was photographed flying outside his beach house. That flag is the same as those carried by #insurrectionists on J6 and has been associated with Christian Nationalism.
"Donald Lee Moss, 62, of Elizabethtown and James Link Behymer, 61, of Hope will appear in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., via Zoom for their arraignment and a status conference on May 29, according to court filings.
The case has been assigned to U.S. District Judge Tanya S. Chutkan..."
"Darrell Goins, of Newell, S.D. is charged with six felony offenses. According to U.S. Department of Justice Goins’ actions and others disrupted a joint session of the U.S. Congress while they counted and assured the electoral votes related to the 2020 presidential election."
I wrote about American Nazis and what they believe, and the white Christian movement that calls itself "conservative," and the differentiators between the two. Or perhaps I should say, the lack of them.
"I'm reminded today that the #Nazis were defending statues erected in public spaces to honor leaders of the #Confederacy, who were a traitorous gang of #insurrectionists who back in the Sixties (the eighteen sixties) waged a war against their own country, and murdered hundreds of thousands of their fellow citizens in order to preserve and expand their practice of enriching themselves by enslaving Black people."
…Surveillance footage showed #IsabellaDeLuca entering the Capitol through a broken window, where she & other rioters removed a coffee table worth >$600 & passed it to others outside through another broken window, the FBI said. She continued taking photos as other [#insurgents] cont’d stealing furniture, incl’g a lamp & a chair, & passing them to the [#insurrectionists] outside.
“The table legs were broken off at some point…” per the complaint, 1…was used …to attack a #law enforcement officer.
#Republican Donald #Trump has launched his general election campaign not merely rewriting the #history of the #Jan6, 2021, Capitol attack [#insurrection], but positioning the #violent siege & its failed attempt to overturn the 2020 election as a cornerstone of his bid to return to the #WhiteHouse.
Having previously vowed to #pardon the rioters [#insurrectionists], he promised to help them “the first day we get into office.”
Initially relegated to a #fringe theory on the edges of the #Republican Party, the #RevisionistHistory of #Jan6, which Trump amplified during the early days of the #GOP primary campaign to rouse his most devoted voters, remains a rally centerpiece even as he must appeal more broadly to a general election audience.
Trump has said one of his 1st acts if given a 2nd presidency would be to pardon the #insurrectionists who carried out the #Jan6 attack on the #UnitedStates Capitol, referring to them as “hostages” in a post on Monday night.
"Former President Trump on Monday said among his first actions if he is reelected in November would be to free rioters imprisoned for their actions during the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol."
"Kayla Reifschneider, 27, was so fired up in support of Donald Trump on Jan. 6, 2021, that federal prosecutors say the Los Angeles, California, woman smashed apart press cameras, spit at reporters as she told them to 'Get Covid!' and yelled obscenities as she stormed the Capitol. She was arrested Wednesday."
Remember that the Supreme Court’s decision did not do what Donald Trump had asked: clear him of insurrection. The Colorado court found that he so was, and Trump had an entire section of his SCOTUS brief arguing he was peaceful on #Jan6th. The Court didn’t do what he asked; it did not clear him. And the act’s decision leaves space for his criminal trial about #Jan6 to proceed, should the Court dispose of the other Trump immunity case quickly in the Spring (as it can and must). The Court took 25 days to render this decision. Anything longer in the immunity case would be deeply inconsistent with what it did here.
The Colorado court opinion has extensive findings on this, weighing the testimony of Trump defenders like Kash Patel & concluding Trump was an insurrectionist.
None of those findings was disturbed by SCOTUS today, despite Trump’s request that the #scotus do so.
"Brass knuckle glove-wearing ex-sheriff’s deputy who punched an officer, assaulted 2nd, on Jan. 6 is sentenced.
Ronald Colton McAbee, 30, was sentenced to five years and 10 months in federal prison, less than the 12 years and seven months in prison prosecutors recommended."
...#insurrectionists, at the direction of #Trump, would storm the U.S Capitol; that on Jan. 7, 2021, #Republican officials and others would breach the voting systems in #CoffeeCounty, Georgia; that she knew in January 2022 that a judge would grant her request for a special purpose grand jury to assist her in her investigation because several individuals, including U.S. senators, were throwing up interference and...
"Former No. 3 House Republican Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) recirculated Rep. Elise Stefanik’s (R-N.Y.) statement on the Jan. 6 Capitol attack after the current House GOP Conference Chair reportedly deleted …"
It seems like a few red state governors are actually getting ready to declare war, and engage in an organized #insurrection against the #UnitedStates. Are they unaware that we incarcerate #insurrectionists in this country? Or do they seriously believe that the "South will rise again", and defeat the nation? Are they planning on seceding?
"A brother and sister from Arizona were sentenced Wednesday after pleading guilty to a felony charge related to their participation in the attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, the Department of Justice (DOJ) said.
Felicia Konold, 29, was sentenced to 45 days in prison, and Cory Konold, 28, was sentenced to 30 days in prison, both with two years of supervised release."
"An Oregon man was arrested Tuesday on felony and misdemeanor charges in connection to his actions during the Capitol riots on Jan. 6, 2021. Andy Steven Oliva-Lopez, 27, was charged with felony..."
“/The feds are staging a civil war, and Texas should stand their ground,/ a GOP Congressman tweeted after the Supreme Court ruled for the Biden Administration."
