I recently came across a really useful utility on #GitHub that claims to be "The right way to check the weather." The utility is called wttr.in, and it's a console-oriented weather forecast service that supports various information representation methods like terminal-oriented ANSI-sequences for console HTTP clients (curl, httpie, or wget), HTML for web browsers, or PNG for graphical viewers.
Here is an actual weather report obtained by simply entering the following at the command line:
curl wttr.in/Edinburgh
It appears to be a simple, yet powerful #weather reporting service. It is also very customizable, so you can get the information that you need in the format that you want.
I've also found a way to integrate wttr.in into my #ObsidianMD#cycling#journal. I've created a template that I can use to quickly add a weather report to my journal entries. This is really helpful for me because I can now easily track the weather conditions for my rides.
Ik heb de SharePoint-app niet eens op mijn Mac staan maar na elke software-update/restart kan ik dit weer uitzetten. Iemand een idee hoe ik hier van afkom?
I wouldn't say I made a habit of using #opensource software (free or otherwise), but I've been pretty happy with @libreoffice since well before I joined the #fediverse ... not that I'd say I've been using more#foss since then, although I've at least gotten started with #Blender and am trying to get my feet wet with @godotengine as well.
So this looks like what I've been looking for: https://freebeegee.org/
An #OpenSource#VirtualTableTop that actually looks to be ok, written in #PHP that to my untrained eye looks like quite #modernPHP (even though some things seems like they are not too modern)
A learning opportunity with PHP while creating a better Open source tool I'd like to use. #TTRPG
