I recently played an amazing DOS game where you have your country and you can declare war or peace with other ones, and i really enjoyed it. Growing up one of my favorite DOS games was Gobliiins 3, such cool memories!
Our first computer was an IBM, and the first pc game that i remember is called Kindergarten, i wish i remembered more about it though, i would love to watch on youtube and get a nostalgia boost haha
MP3 player was a life changer. I went from a huge CD players not being able to fit in my pocket to a tiny bean that connects to pc with hundreds of songs, and i was blow away!
I just remember playing megaman 1 on NES over and over mostly to listen to the music after you beat the first bosses, i loved the music of that game so much!
I have an Inspiron 8100 with similar specs that I've showcased here and there running Windows XP...and like Colin, I want to see if I can get 98 running on it.
If you watch Colin's video, he ran into performance issues due to the machine's software and drivers being tuned towards Windows XP. I noticed a couple of missed steps during the video that might fix the hiccups he was having with his 8200, and I want to try them out to see if it rectifies the problems he was having.
I'll be tinkering with it here and there today. I'll share as I go along. :)
Not showing my age or anything, but as a kid a Kodak Carousel 600 was what we meant by 'multimedia' tech ... am I alone? Except the word multimedia didn't exist 'back in the day' of course, so this was the equivalent of VR goggles
It was designed to be brought out for Xmas and holidays, and to torture the neighbours with holiday snaps
Monty Python "Four Yorkshiremen" mode /on/
MP: But you try and tell the young people today that, and they won't believe ya'.
ALL: Nope, nope /off/
Bit worried it's (now) listed in "The Internet Antique Shop - TIAS" ... like what does that make me then? 😂
Well an over-estronated & renovated trans witch I guess ... 🤣
When I was a young Commodore-era game developer, C (without the ++ or # back then) was for wimps, and hardcore coders used Assembly, ditching the OS to have maximum available hardware resources. 👴
The purple Game Boy Color was my first ever game system, followed by the purple #GBA and then the blue SP. The original DMG needs some repairs and replacement parts, it was a garage sale pickup years ago.
I use the #SteamDeck a lot nowadays, but I still try to make time for the #retro#handhelds. The mini #emulation handhelds can be a nice change of pace as well! Do you still like old school handhelds? Let me know!
Which is the first PC game that blew your mind?
For me it was definitely DOOM 2! Miles ahead of anything else I had played before.
What is your favorite ever DOS game?

What retro games should everyone play?
Recently purchased a Retroid Pocket 3+ and have the chance to play all the games I didn’t grow up with. Which ones are a must?
