The newest most powerful chips from Intel and AMD don't qualify for Microsoft's newest CoPilot+ AI branding. We're already seeing INCREDIBLE deals on crazy powerful PCs, because of all the AI hype! Here's my review of the Geekom A8, with a BEAST of an AMD chip inside! https://somegadgetguy.com/b/45e

Very random thought....

I am on my Windows computer so much for work that when I get off, I really just want to do something not on a computer. I realize that I now associate Windows with work and it doesn't feel like something fun or enjoyable. It doesn't feel personal to me.

I've been trying to figure out why lately I've had trouble with personal projects and perhaps this might be a small part of the answer.

The rise of widely accessible generative AI tools over the past two years has led to a proliferation of political deepfakes.

Jumblie is a challenging browser-based open-source puzzle game to guess the four words of the day

The game has a theme word for each day, so keep that in mind when guessing the words. It is more challenging than Wordle because there are no hints apart from the theme word. So, if one of the words is ‘landing’ and you guessed ‘land’ there is no co ...continues

We want a future of repairable gadgets and less ewaste.
5-7 years of software support doesn't mean anything if we can't keep the hardware running well for 7 years.
Glad to see iFixit didn't go quiet on this one.

https://www.ifixit.com/News/96162/were-ending-our-samsung-collaboration

I've been trying to highlight Samsung's scummy business practices for a couple years now, but when they can't even make a support contract work with iFixit, it's a REAL bad look.

Ahslan,

@SomeGadgetGuy 100% agree. I was mainly attracted by the size of the normal s24, the software support and the non-pixel hardware lol

@Ahslan it's sad how there seems to be fewer and fewer options for a nice regular sized phone.

@hal_canary You clearly never owned a Zenith that had bad connection in it. A good slap on the side every 20 minutes usually solved that issue.

@danie10 Color me VERY intrigued, as someone who (a) sleeps on his side, (b) has taken to sleeping in a separate room from my spouse due to snoring, and (c) where foam earplugs start hurting my ears after about 3 nights.

danie10,
@danie10@mastodon.social avatar

@leoncowle yep I'm ina similar situation. Just a pity that things like feeling, smell, etc just can't be described objectively for everyone. You have no choice but to try it. But I'm going to look at a few reviews, as I see there was an A10 model before this, which may have had a few reviews.

I am pretty impressed with the normal Souncore Liberty 4 NC earbuds that I currently use.
