Here's a wall of text... at least it's colorized! This is the output of Log.pr(...args), my #godot pretty-printer - in this case, it's logging data when my tests run, showing some heuristics about every puzzle in #DotHop (while also making sure they all can be solved).
My next #devLog will cover the implementation of the pretty-printer, stay tuned for that on Friday!
Let me know if there's interest in this as a 'proper' addon! I flip-flop on whether utils like this should be per-project or shared as libraries... I would benefit from DRY-ing up code across my games, but also get annoyed when I can't just change a file in the current project. Any opinions?
My list of documents for the next game project for now

2️⃣ craft tables
3️⃣ all objects (for actions, props, etc) tables
4️⃣ locations and environment objects tables
5️⃣ concept art
6️⃣ demo
7️⃣ examples of screens from games and movies
8️⃣ examples assets
I'm starting to write a game design document for a new game, I'll keep all the details under wraps until the first gameplay, but I'll show the intermediate results in the devlog. So far I can say that it will be 3D, about craft, sci-fi, in a setting similar to Aliens and The Expanse
I’m sure I read a post on one of the communities here recently that was showing off their entry to a Mastodon-based painting competition as well.
As far as things like gaming go obviously that’s a pretty wide topic and it’s gonna depend what you’re looking for. #VideoGames or #Gaming for example gets you a lot of news headlines. Specific game tags e.g #Starfield will get you a mixture of news, streamers, screenshots, memes and of course people aggressively complaining. Or maybe you’re interested in seeing what sorts of games small indie creators are making in which case something like #DevLog might be of interest.
I know your original post is asking for “notable content creators” which it seems like you’re using to mean “big accounts”. But really if it’s interesting content on a topic you enjoy, the size of the account posting it doesn’t matter.
And naturally since you said you’re open to other “quality content” I do also recommend #Knitting because we’re surprisingly active and also cool af.
I have a crafts channel on makertube.net already but would prefer to spread myself around in case one server goes down. Also tbh I'm not even sure devlogs would count as "making" anyway.
Tried the instance finder on the PT homepage but it's pretty useless so if anyone knows where is stable and welcomes this kind of content I'd appreciate it! Thanks.
When I first tested the implementation of gamepad vibration in Unity, it became clear that the same parameters are felt differently on different gamepads. So in Erra: Exordium I have a lot of internal vibration settings for different gamepads
Hey everybody, what’s up? In this video, I will demonstrate how to harness the high performance of a GPU for generating fractal patterns and transforming them in real-time, which can be used for creating original effects in your game with minimal effort. #Godot#GodotEngine#Godot4#devlog#shaders#GodotTips#fractal
Ahhh, well... I got my F# URL Template parser + URL Parser ready to start experimenting more with it
Next phase is to compare results between parsing templates/url and see if they match, with that I can actually start building a router-like abstraction for Avalonia UI Desktop applications!
At least that's the goal, hopefully I won't run out of energy before that 😅
For the past couple months, I've been working on developing Bonesweeper into a bigger game, with the support of a grant from Screen Tasmania! I want to share as much of the process as I can. Keep an eye to this thread in the weeks and months to come! :) #gamedev#indiedeveloper
Are there any notable content creators that focus on content other than niche tech and US political on Mastodon?
I’m hoping to find more general, less nerdy content or infuriating American news. 99% of what I see and is recommended to me is just that....
