You know when you have a video loop, but to make it loop something disappears in an improbable manner?
And you think, that's a shame, because I really like this little clip.
And you could crop it so, for example, a bird doesn't disappear in mid-flight, but then it looks unbalanced so you need to find some unobtrusive way for the bird to disappear so it appears natural?
Sea life abstraction in blue and yellow. Waves, shore, sand, fish, sea creatures, monsters, rivulets and splashes of water. Give this abstract a few moments of your time and see what you discover.
With just a couple of days left of our road trip, we've hit the east of Tasmania and are stopping in Bicheno before heading north tomorrow towards the Bay of Fires. Bicheno is just good for walking with a great coastline full of interesting rocks and beaches. We particularly like the Blowhole, though it wasn't spouting water as much as the last time we were here. So here's a sunset as there were some great clouds today
Day 2 of my private photo workshop on Vancouver Island. Always pleased and grateful when the participant is willing to face strong winds and heavy rain in order to get some storm photos of the Pacific Ocean. This is our first big storm of the season.
Two wonderful dogs to match the background 🤗🐕🐕. Enjoying a refreshing dip in the water! The background is a rocky cliff on the coast called Scala dei Turchi (Staircase of the Turks) in Realmonte, Sicily, Italy.
I ordered another camera, a Canon 5DSR. I'm starting to wonder if I'm out of control, with the whole photography thing. That will make four cameras. I suppose, though, that I could have a worse obsession.
For my wife, its sewing machines and fabric, she quilts and has a little shop in a small outbuilding just to the west of my office. Have you ever purchased a high end sewing or quilting machine. It's worse than buying a car. Prices aren't readily available to allow for comparison shopping - not even an MSRP. So, you end up having to visit or calling different dealers to find their prices. Then haggling isn't out of the question.
“One must be serious about something, if one wants to have any amusement in life.” - Oscar Wilde, John Cooper, The Importance of Being Earnest
This morning's sunrise was worth getting up for. It was fantastic. I also found a place on Lake Superior near my house that I haven't spent much time photographing. I found a bunch of new compositions and features to photograph during the next month while the sun is aligned correctly.
We still have a land line telephone, though we both have cell phones as well. The home phone is inundated with calls from telemarketers, which is annoying at best. I get the idea, that it's a job for somebody, but I don't entertain the idea of doing any business, I didn't initiate, with strangers over the telephone. Another weird thing is that often when we answer the phone and say hello, there is nothing from the other end - quiet. Lately, I've taken up a tactic that I use when I don't recognize a number and I get a call ID description of wireless caller or out of area. I answer the phone as:" Alfred's Unicycle Universe."
“Have you ever been annoyed and amused with yourself at the same time? It's an interesting feeling, to say the very least.” - Patrick Rothfuss, The Name of the Wind
Since last night’s very high solar activity with awesome probability of seeing the aurora at my home got completely annihilated by not only thick clouds but fog as well, I had to opt for more classical autumn-scenes…
Not quite as spectacular as dancing lights in the sky, but still pretty in it’s own right.
This is the view from Badger Head Lookout. It overlooks Badger Beach in Nawrantapu NP on the northern coast of Tasmania. The 'iconic' beach view in Tasmania is Wineglass Bay, but I think this is just as special.
I might be stretching it a little, as I'm fairly confident this wasn't human-placed, but I'm sure humans would have revered the stone and its location nonetheless. I did. It was a cracking spot.
