I'm following this tutorial by @Gargron, does anybody know if this is still up to date? I can't get Mastodon to find my test-actor in search. The inbox exists and can be posted to, the actor verifyer tools tell me it that it should be valid. I can see in my logs, that the mastodon instance I am searching for is accessing my actor endpoint, but in search, it tells me nothing can be found
I actually started #Fedify because I was working on a single-user #ActivityPub implementation called #Hollo and felt like I needed some groundwork, and now that I'm somewhat done yak shaving, I'm back to working on Hollo, although I still jump back and forth between Hollo development and Fedify when I think of features I need for Fedify.
I've asked this before and don't think there was as much up and running at that point, but are there any great existing #PeerTube platforms for hosting #MusicVideos (and related puppet vids) that also give the option to embed privately or "unlisted"?
I currently pay a Vimeo subscription to have no ads and privacy settings on certain playlists, but I'd prefer to put those funds into more recording time and the videos themselves. Any suggestions? 🙃 #FediMusic#Musodon#DIYMusic#Music#Musician
@RobertaFidora I am working on a project that is going to cover your usecase very well - in fact already is perfectly able to cover it, but for the time being only with a number of gotchas (reason being that the first beta release is only happening this month :)). Maybe keep it bookmarked if you find it generally interesting, in about a year from now it might just be in a state where it comes without any gotchas, if things work out the way I envision :) https://simonrepp.com/hyper8
Marshall McLuhan wrote books and taught students about his theories of media for decades, and is widely known as "as the father of modern media studies";
Ah, Meta is thinking about adding advertising to the #Fediverse ...
"You could imagine an extension to the protocol eventually — of saying like, ‘I want to support micropayments,’ or … like, ‘hey, feel free to show me ads'"
Once again I love the diversity of networks I can see with Friendica. The last ~50 posts in my main timeline included posts from: Diaspora, PixelFed, Mastodon, SocialHome, Bluesky, and Pleroma. Thank you Friendica and the fediverse. #friendica#fediverse
📢💰We will run an experiment of drastically reducing the price of our monthly subscription from $4.99/m down to a mere $1.99/m. That's a 60% price reduction! Of course, the 30-day free trial remains, too.
To make the lower price stick, we'd need to get as many people to try Murmel as we possibly can.
Please, help us spread the word throughout the #fediverse. We'd love to get a boost from you. Please, smash that 🔁 button! 🚀🙏
@starbreaker@murmel_social we pay actual human beings more than fairly to work on Murmel and a whole suite of other projects. It’s just a team that we intentionally keep small, because we don’t believe in hyper-growth for hyper-growth’s sake, or the other management/comms BS. The “AI” part is fancy speak for “clever automations” which are critical for our survival as a small team. Otherwise, we both know that artificial forms of intelligence don’t exist (at least, yet) ;)
Fair enough, and perhaps I was a bit harsh earlier, but I don't trust recommendation algorithms either.
One of the reasons I'm on Mastodon is to avoid recommendation algorithms, and since I know how to follow individual users' RSS feeds your service doesn't provide anything I'd value.
#Bridgy became quietly available for people to test, but as bridged posts started to appear, other people became aware and more people started to test and use the bridge.
To make your fediverse account available in Bluesky, you’ll have to follow this account: @bsky.brid.gy@bsky.brid.gy
