#Introduction: Hello, I am #new here! I was on #Diaspora for quite a few years but it was a very small community. Mastodon seems larger and more dynamic.
I'm mainly here to chat about #RPG games. I have been playing #DnD since the #1980s, starting with Moldvay #Basic and Keep on the Borderlands. These days I am mostly playing #DCC, but also enjoy Call of #Cthulhu, Traveller and #OSR games.
Besides #RPGs, I like British comics, especially #2000AD and its spin-offs. And #cycling.
Back in the mid-to-late 1980s, the Commodore Amiga was, generally speaking, superior to Apple systems and PC-compatibles, which were often mocked by Amiga owners. 😉
And then an old friend from my college radio days who I told about the youngun who didn't know from Frank immediately responded with this song, so now it's on my mental soundtrack as well. TBH I think it's a safe bet the youngun wouldn't know from Steely Dan either. Or maybe even Aretha. Ah well, time flies when you're having. ("Typo" intended.)
Growing up in the 80's, when you would stay at home sick from school, you would get a little lesson on the history of television by watching the re-runs. Here are a few of the things I learned.
Researching for a blog post and ran across my favorite game ever, Centipede, archived fully 10 years ago at the Internet Archive. Via the 'Internet Arcade'. Love it. And it loads up in MAME. Rad.
That's so true... As I posted time ago, records stores were the best spot for the meetings during late 1980's and the 1990's. So bad there are few stores where I live now... #MusicLover#RecordsStores#1980s#1990s
