I mostly recharged this weekend. I opted to work at home today. No meetings afforded me to catch up on a few tasks and chores, too. It was sublime.

Son arrived home covered in clay from the baseball diamond at school. Under protest he stripped to underwear and was sent to shower. Clothes and shoes are being de-clayed.

Now he’s finishing schoolwork not completed this PM. He did pick up on the “it’s not time to talk back” vibe. So yay.

“AuDHD represents a blend of ADHD and autistic traits, leading to unique experiences and challenges. When the underlying needs of ADHD and autism interact, it can feel like a tug of war for the AuDHDer - Do I need routine or spontaneity? Newness or familiarity? Busyness or a steady pace? Though these examples are quite simplistic, they illustrate the internal confusion of the AuDHDer attempting to address their needs.”

It’s kind of ironic when you are watching short videos about untreated ADHD and space out thinking about other things and miss most of the video because you have under-medicated ADHD lol

Unpacking the dishwasher and then making my bed with one hand.. because I'm holding a bag of oats in my other hand.

Why? Because I have adhd and got distracted before making breakfast, so I've been carrying oats around the house for the last 20 minutes without noticing.

Trying something new. The neurologist (has it and it's her specialty) I follow on IG says that if you want to do stuff, don't sit down because transitions are hard. So, after walkies, I went straight to my sewing room. I find this hilarious. This is now known as sneaking up on my brain😂

Running a Pathfinder game tonight and while I'm excited about the story we're about to start I still have prep to do in our VTT and ... I don't wanna.

How can my executive dysfunction be so bad that I am actively fighting against doing something I've been looking forward to for weeks?

Like, my demand avoidance is kicking into high gear and the demander is ... me. The call is coming from inside the Julie.

I wanted to bake something today because the weather was cool, but I couldn't remember the recipe, so I had to look it up, but the recipe book was packed, so I had to move a bunch of boxes to get to it, but while they were out of the way I decided to put the kitchen rug down, then as long as I was at it I unpacked some dishes, then I unpacked my cookbooks then decided to put them on the tea cart, then put every else back nicely & now the kitchen looks better but I'm too tired to bake.

On the plus side, this means I'm not likely to finish you either.

Today. Was. Just. Too. Much.

Endless work meetings. Slack. Interruptions. HOA Committee Texts. School meetings. School district meetings. Music lesson.

At some point at about 3pm I just had enough. And when this happens I tend to leave chats. Cancel or ignore messages or meetings.

I have to for my sanity. I have learned that if I push on I truly burn out and am not useful for anyone.

Why does our society encourage this???

📋ADHDers love curating Reading Lists to stay on track.

🫣Going back to them, though, is another story.

Have you tried giving yourself little rewards when you check off read items from the list? Because they totally count as mini victories! 🥳

It's true that neurodivergent minds are energized and motivated when they set and execute goals, gain achievements, communicate, create, strategize, innovate, or serve and connect with people.

But the constant whirlwind of killer ideas and endless possibilities, without the reigns of process, structure, and execution, can get debilitating.

🧰 To help you crush those distractions, we've curated a list of helpful tools available for you to use on our browser.

Building systems and leveraging productivity tools can set you up for success and manage your scattered thoughts.

Our built-in Reading List is one such example, read the blog for more👇

Ever purchase something again because you swear you lost it and you swear you looked everywhere 5 times?

… only to buy it again and find the original a short time later?!

.. … that’s happened to me TWICE in the last month.

This could be the connection between Ehlers-Danlos and neurodivergence. (People with EDS, like me, are 7 times as likely to be autistic and 5 times as likely to have ADHD -- also like me.)

The hostility of governments towards tourists with ADHD who just want to take their medication is a true test of the effectiveness of that medication.

Within the EU, I must fill out a form with my pharmacist for them to file for each trip beyond Sverige’s border.

For my trip to Korea, I must download 2 Word docs from a website in Korean, submit a copy of my passport, flight information, notarized English translation of my Swedish prescription, and email it all 10 days before travel.
