Ben Hanson interviews Bruce Nesmith about his long career at Bethesda Softworks, where he was the lead designer on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, senior system...
Morning Folks! While I shared some of this on the podcast yesterday, I spent some time this morning talking about my early impressions of #Starfield after some thirteen hours in the game. I'm really enjoying myself, but also spend quite a bit talking about some of the failings of the game systems.
Will be going live on #Twitch at 1:30 AM CST will be checking out The Terminator : Future Shock from Bethesda I'm a #SmallStreamer so please boost this post and raids are greatly appreciated.
My God, #Starfield truly is the best Bethesda game to date. It's everything I wanted. Rarely did ANY media suck me in so quickly that I've lost complete track of time. I just wanted to take a quick look before bed (at 2 am), and suddenly it was 7 am. Todd, you son of an Ashta...
The Fallout franchise is experiencing a significant resurgence, largely fueled by the recent success of its Amazon Studios adaptation. Mirroring the acclaim of HBO’s The Last of Us series, the Fallout TV show has received a strong reception with a Rotten Tomatoes score of 94%. This boost has notably affected Fallout 4, which has seen its highest player count since its initial release in 2016.
On platforms like Steam, Fallout 4 currently ranks fourth in trending games, with recent player counts reaching up to 93,294 concurrent players—a stark increase from the usual numbers around 25,000 in recent years. This surge is anticipated to grow with the upcoming release of a free new-gen upgrade for the game on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
The influence of the TV series extends beyond Fallout 4, impacting other titles in the series as well. Fallout 3 – Game of the Year Edition, the original Fallout, Fallout: New Vegas, Fallout 76, and even Fallout Shelter are all enjoying increased popularity, featuring prominently in Steam’s trending charts.
Fallout 4 is available now on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, and is included in Xbox Game Pass and PS Plus Extra and Premium, offering fans new and old ample opportunity to explore or revisit the richly detailed world of Fallout.
Damn I just encountered my first major-ish Fallout 4 bug…I reassigned some provisioners around but my supply line map is not updating; it shows the new supply lines AND the old ones, so now Imit’s really fucking hard to know which one is the current one😰Anyone knows a fix for that? It’s not game breaking but it is pretty annoying😥#Gaming#VideoGames#Fallout#Bethesda
Just started playing Fallout 4, got to the building Sanctuary settlement part, and I already feel like I'm going to be obsessed with this game😭 #Gaming#VideoGames#Fallout#Bethesda
#EllaPurnell ponoc grala (nie przeszla - grala) w #Fallout.y #Bethesda i dzieki temu dodala do postaci Lucy drobne elementy od siebie - i to chyba dziekiu temu ta postac i serial ma taki klimat jakby sie troche ogladalo gameplay
:vaultboy: Holy moly, a 14GB NextGen Update 9 years after release! Happy to see so much love for the Fallout series 🙏
If you are a new Vault Dweller coming from the tv show - Fallout 4 is chronologically the last game in the series but has the most accessible and modern gameplay. The games don't have to be played in order and can be played on their own, I'd start with #Fallout4 :vaultboy:
Holy shit, this is pathetic. #Bethesda (Microsofthesda?) is selling the mininuke edition of #Fallout Anthology again, but this time it comes with download codes instead of discs.
When I hear people say that there’s no exploration in #Starfield it’s always that they went to a random cave on a planet and nothing was there.
I’m realising that #Bethesda’s vision of a “space game” wasn’t (mainly) planets and biomes, but interesting pockets of human settlement in a realistically empty galaxy
I don’t think I’ve played a game, and especially an open world game, with so many huge, crafted interiors. These aren’t procedurally generated modules but unique places
Let's do a Saturday #Starfield thread. Looks like a lot of people are upset about this picture, because what could be innovative in "#Fallout in space" is "it's like a generic #Bethesda RPG but in space". This is true and untrue, let me explain. I'm not trying to change your mind about this game, it's just my explanation of why a lot of people spend a lot of time playing it, and what's innovative about it. #Starfield#Steam#Xbox#XboxSeriesX#Gamepass
So the simple answer to the question "Why do people spend so much time in this game?” - #Starfield allows you to live inside a sci-fi book, and it's a very realistic sci-fi book. #Bethesda paid a lot of attention to detail. When you read a sci-fi book, you always imagine what it would be like: getting on your own spaceship, sitting in the captain's chair, taking off. How big is the spaceship? What is the weather like on the planet? And #Starfield gives you the answers to all these questions.
