Tesla CEO Elon Musk has said he opposed U.S. tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles. "Tesla competes quite well in the Chinese market, with no tariffs and no deferential support. In general, I am in favor of no tariffs," he said last week when answering audience questions via video link during VivaTech, an annual technology conference dedicated to innovation and startups in Paris.

After months, I finally started seeing Cybertrucks in real life. I have to hand it to Elon and Tesla: there is some impressive design and engineering here. Specifically, they have created a vehicle that is impossible to photograph, because none of the pictures of this thing convey just how butt-ugly it is in real life.
The first time I saw one, earlier this month, was head-on, parked facing out in a parking structure, and my brain had a hard time resolving it as an object.
The second Cybertruck I saw was also head-on, but in motion, as its driver was turning way too fast into a supermarket parking lot, entering through the one-way exit lane I was trying to use to leave the lot.
Which, to be fair, is 100% on-brand for anyone who would consider owning a Cybertruck.
Das ist auch deshalb witzig, weil es ähnliche Listen für Tesla gibt. Und SpaceX hat auch schon viele Ankündigungen wegignoriert. Ich glaube die Boring Company auch.

"Fun" fact: #ElonMusk's compensation plan, expected to be approved by the combination of retail shareholder enablers and the fact that many major market funds don't vote their shares, would be enough to pay 6-figure salaries to all ~14000 recently laid-off employees for 40 years.
Elon Musk has claimed that the 2024 presidential election would likely be the last to be decided by US citizens, blaming an “influx” of illegal immigrants being allowed to vote.

In a series of back-to-back blows, the company's first-quarter earnings missed estimates by nearly every measure, it recalled nearly 4,000 Cybertrucks, and it entered a price war with Chinese EV rivals teaming up against the company.

The retraction of some of the threads caused the electrodes in the device to be less effective, Neuralink said. It said it had since made tweaks which in turn "produced a rapid and sustained improvement in BPS, that has now superseded Noland's initial performance."
