As one of my guilty pleasures is movies with a lot of destruction, this series is a real treat. Moreover, the UHD Blu-rays, assuming you have the appropriate home theater equipment, are reference material, particularly the last installment.
am watching #Gojira (1954). reckoning i have never seen it in it's entirety, and what i've seen was dubbed.
it's amazing this movie was made a mere 9 years after the bombing of Hiroshima & Nagasaki. the opening of the movie is so much about reliving that trauma.
Gojira feels way more Japanese than the other #Godzilla movies. i feel as if the monster is the trauma they needed to face but it's not for us to understand the whole struggle. we're just here to bear witness as outsiders.

Watching Godzilla vs. Kong one last time before it leaves Netflix on December 31. Not that I don't have it in other formats 😂 but why not. I dig Godzilla stuff across the board. I guess some people hate on the USA ones, but Kong is always my main draw in these. And this one has some GREAT Kong stuff in it.
Watched two Godzilla movies this week, with the kids. They are fascinated by Godzilla and had no issue watching Singular Point episodes, but Godzilla vs. The Sea Monster was a bit too scary for the 6yo, and Son of Godzilla had a scene where Godzilla left the scene without his son that killed it for my 4yo.
Technically I was watching alone, they just sidled themselves next to me.
A little disappointed my comic book collector bio dad stored these so haphazardly but they're not looking too bad for their age, and they were always readin' copies.
Tips on what the best comic book covers and any care tips? Thinking I'll slip them in those plastic comic covers and put them on a bottom shelf not facing a window. I have a hundred or two.

Ich verstehe es sehr gut, wenn diese Version absolut keine Fans hat. Der Film fühlt sich nach 50 Minuten schon ermüdend an und die Charaktere und die Story sind krampfhaft auf witzig gemacht.
One of the big complaints I've heard about Apple TV+'s "Monarch: Legacy of Monsters" is that there isn't enough Godzilla or other kaiju in it.
Now, I'm a huge fan of the kaiju genre, and would love to have seen them in every scene in this show.
But that belies the fact that it's called "Monarch: Legacy of Monsters," and it is essentially the origin story of PRECISELY that: The clandestine organization tasked with keeping track of giant monsters.
I saw #GodzillaXKongTheNewEmpire last night, and I definitely had mixed feelings about it, especially given how much I love Godzilla Minus One. Late into the movie, I had a thought-shift in understanding that they're very different things.
