From 7 March, the designated gatekeepers – Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, ByteDance, Meta, and Microsoft – must comply with all obligations in the Digital Markets Act.
These changes give you control of your:
📱 data: decide freely how your data is used
📱 phone: choose your default apps, browsers and search engines
📱 apps: install the apps you want and remove pre-installed apps
This one definetively is in the right directiion, it only came 'a bit late' and is way too short.
There is no choice, if soneone wants me to use WhatsApp, AirDrop or AirPlay.
In my private environment I can say 'no, thanks' (and socially isolate myself), but when it comes to companys (e.g. discounts), communities (e.g. soccer for kids) or public services (e.g. schools), I have no choice. I simply have to use a device that supports it.
Still no chance for other manufacturers or data sensible devices.

à mon grand regret, il va falloir que j’achète un smartphone……
Autant vous dire que ça ne me réjouis pas du tout et que ça me gonfle déjà.
J’étais partie sur un google pixel parce que c’est compatible avec #LineageOS et que ça fait des belles photos (j’en ai besoin pour faire des belles photos). Mais mon frère qui a le même tel m’a expliqué que les belles photos c’était pas lié au téléphone en lui même mais à l’IA de google, et que du coup les photos du pixel avec lineage, c’était peut être de la grosse bouse.
Donc j’ai besoin d’aide pour savoir comment comparer les différents téléphones compatibles avec lineage, selon la qualité des photos sous lineageOS…
Parce qu’avec les comparateurs "officiels" de téléphone, bien évidemment le comparatif est réalisé avec le système d’exploitation d’origine.
Est ce qu’il y a parmi vous des fanas du #libre et bidouilleur·ses de téléphones qui peuvent m’aiguiller sur des ressources communautaires de comparatifs de tel éligibles à des systèmes libres?

mObywatel i apki banków działają dalej, ale Portfel Google upiera się, że telefon nie spełnia wymogów bezpieczeństwa i odmawia obsługi płatności zbliżeniowych.
Aktualizacja Magiska i modułów nie pomogła, tak jak i zablokowanie dostępu do roota wszystkiemu z „google” w nazwie.

We already knew that the $199 Rabbit R1 had the specs of a budget Android smartphone and ran a basic version of Android (with a custom Launcher that mostly interacts with Rabbit's cloud services). Aujourd'hui j'ai installé #LineageOs20 (#android13) sur mon #Fairphone4 (qui tourne toujours sous #android11) Ça faisait lonnnnnngtemps que je n'avais plus utilisé #LineageOs , je suis content de voir que c'est toujours agréables et hyper fonctionnel! #OpenSource
Petite mise à jour, depuis passé a LineageOS 21 (l'application de musique est vraiment buggée ou c'est moi ?), j'étais repassé sur le clavier par défaut. Je viens de tomber sur #HeliBoard un chouette clavier hyper personnalisable (qui semble être un fork d'#Openboard). Je retrouve une fonctionnalité qui me manquait beaucoup : la gestion de plusieurs langues dans les suggestions de mots et correction.
