I still cannot get over how much I adore this art I had done of my #guildwars2 willbender, i love this character and this spec to death and I'm so so glad I found an artist to do her justice :')
Hey!
I'm Fen, #MMORPG enjoyer since my pre-teen years. Primarily #ffxiv atm, but have been a big #GuildWars2 gamer as well, still hang around those communities.
I also enjoy various other games like #Diablo, #Nier and #DMC5.
I have a cat and I also have #ADHD and am #Actuallyautistic so, my interests are sort of all over the place and I get really deep into them for a while. Expect the unexpected or something
On top of that I enjoy #anime, #computers and #technology in general, and am looking to get more into #gamedev (I'm a former community manager, wanna try to get back into gamedev in a more serious capacity as a dev, hopefully)
In a game where you can in 95 % of the cases explore every single dialog branch and be a total completionist about the story, having a branching quest where you’re reminiscing about the past and paying respects to characters who have passed away, making the player choose two out of four characters to revisit, forcing you to basically disrespect the other two of them, just feels wrong and annoys me.
A fan-made “trailer” for #GuildWars2, showing off some of the creativity and diversity in the game. It’s based on cutscenes and official trailers, but all of the places and characters are in the game for you to experience. I love it!
Spoiler warning: Some of the images do show key elements of the story, but there’s so little context (and as a new player you’re not really understanding what you’re seeing anyway) that I don’t consider any of it a spoiler.
I don't know if I should laugh or I should applaud.
I mean, it is understandable why they are doing this. That is good and all. However, #FPS games are, well, #games. FPS games are not #RPG, that's #RolePlayingGame not rocket-propelled grenade. 😅
In an FPS match, there is nothing to be gained in not blowing up buildings. On the contrary, it can serve as an advantage to do so because your enemy will have less places to hide, while you are waiting to snipe them.
NPCs are NPCs. They are not people. It doesn't matter if you shoot them, burn them, drown them, or whatever.
For example, in #GuildWars2, which is an #MMORPG, we get rewards healing a downed NPC, so, we do it without the need to ask us.
Lastly, heal your enemy? In an FPS game? If that is even possible to do, why would anyone do it? Even in RPG, no one would do it even if that is possible. A #PK / #PvP kill is a kill, let them spawn by themselves.
Again. Good idea. The intention is there, and I applaud them for that. However, none of it makes sense in games meant for competition and matches.
So I could use a Jackal mount to get to two of the spots for Skyscale Lost, but the Jackal costs 200 Trade Contracts and I’m already a bit short of the 500 I need for the next Skyscale phase. So that’s not going to happen. Better to just buy the treats. #GW2
Professionally right now I work as an SME in a #PenTesting group for a regulatory company, but it's really not my bag of tea in the long run. That I can feel. I much prefer to be in an investigatory and tool-making field for something related to #DFIR . I was especially happy doing #ReverseEngineering of #malware .
I'm into reverse engineering, assembly languages like #IA32 and recently #ARM / #ARM64, programming (old classics like C/C++ / #Python but learning the newer stuff like #RustLang ), big into #forensics, #RasPi and #Arduino projects and such.
Still trying to figure out what I am career wise, though, like job title and such! It's all great fun to me, just haven't found the direct niche to sink into.
Hobby wise, I'm also really into #GuildWars2! Long time gamer at heart.
