I gave KDE Plasma Mobile another go. It improved a LOT over the past few months. No crashes yet! It's a lot more stable now. Although not as stable as Phosh.

I like their whole "just copy Android" philosophy. Everything feels familiar and intuitive. I might keep it like this.

Decided to try to setup a blog for my development. For my first piece I decided to recount the development history of #Lomiri as a frame for my future posts.

(p.s. My next post will have to do with the last poll I did.)

This one definetively is in the right directiion, it only came 'a bit late' and is way too short.

There is no choice, if soneone wants me to use WhatsApp, AirDrop or AirPlay.
In my private environment I can say 'no, thanks' (and socially isolate myself), but when it comes to companys (e.g. discounts), communities (e.g. soccer for kids) or public services (e.g. schools), I have no choice. I simply have to use a device that supports it.

Still no chance for other manufacturers or data sensible devices.

When my school says (obviously it has the right to do so): we use AppleTV (they call it 'concept') then I can not use my Devices or my . In this case even or are useless because of patents and s.

So the 'digital market' still isn't abke to regulate itself and still is a game of monopoly.
Still no reason to celebrate

You know what. If I am going to try helping to maintain the Lomiri UI in postmarketOS, why not do the ultimate dogfooding and install it on my main laptop? If I am going to distrohop anyways, why not at least try it?

Today i implemented a password input to unlock the / vault, so we can soon remove a part of the credentials.toml (which was just a workaround for faster testing) and make the app safer.
feels nicer the more i get to work with it.

Sadly my ARM CI did not work as nicely as the x86, so i can't package for my phone easily.

Someone over on GitLab did some really impressive work into reverse engineering the Qualcomm IMS bringup for VoLTE service on Linux phones. I tested his proof of concept IMS data service tool and was successfully able to place and receive calls on my 6T from LTE/4G mode! Audio worked in both directions! IMPRESSIVE!

I tried to document the issue and current debug here[1], just in case any bootloader, firmware, or kernel people would like to have a look and offer ideas 🙏

For those wanting to give a try on based on my last post, I wrote a quick shell script to set up the pmaports environment for you. All you have to do is run the shell script and then run pmbootstrap init and make sure to select "y" when prompted "Build outdated packages during 'pmbootstrap install'?".

All parts of have been upstreamed from to !!! Now it is super easy to test Lomiri yourself! Only the pmOS UI package needs to be built manually. I might write a quick post explaining how to do it if people are interested.
