Apple's "retail footprint is more important than it has ever been for a product like this, where seeing is believing. Meta has a few stores here and there. And some partnerships. But nothing like what Apple has."
Folx, while yall talking about $APPL #VisionPro as a productive tool and fantasy reading your work emails and design powerpoints (sorry, keynote) in the zone, have you ever tried lifting 500gr for an hour or two with just your nose?
I did this, with a #Quest 1, every day (2h/day, that's how long the battery lasts), for a month, during Covid lockdown, as an experiment and escape of that fun period of 2020.
I had so much neck pain after that, I've never put a #VR headseat on my face again.
Ox suggested me to try to ask here .. Is an #native#cpp#Quest#developer that successfully managed to install the #sdk#OpenXR and manage to compile/run the samples in #Windows with #AndroidStudio OR develop on Quest using #VisualStudio ? I once manage to compile Quest stuff using VS Android Extensions BUT I was never able to run it on Quest/launch the debugger that way. So before I start N weeks of tears & wears & despair as by suggestion I am asking "if anyone knows how". Thanks.
Anyone here attending #MetaConnect in person? I'll be there with my #Quest and hope to privately demo Rube Works VR: The Official Rube Goldberg Invention Game.
I'll also be looking for some testers soon!
This video is an early test on the Nreal Light using AR and a phone as a 3DOF pointing device. The Quest version uses full hand tracking.
Someone tampered with Peachfuzz, the horse of Jonathan the Fair, making his participation in the Annual Rosewood Feast Tourney an uncertainty. The squire has some leads, but the party would have to ask around and possibly even compete in Jonathan's stead to help the people of Brickleburgh
Have I been to mean to #Meta#Quest? With how Meta has been running things, I really don't like or trust them to spearhead #VR, but after watching the #Thrill video today (linked) I'm wondering if I've been too mean. Thoughts?
So Meta just announced always online #drm for its #quest#vr device series, including the upcoming #quest3.
People who said all of this would happen since FB login requirement must feel vindicated huh. It's almost like you shouldn't believe anything a giant souless corporations like #meta say.
OC i drew Sunflower from Plants vs. zombies (app: openbrush quest 2)
Meta's AR glasses are three years behind Apple Vision Pro (appleinsider.com)
The latest setback to Facebook owner Meta's plans for an Apple Vision Pro style headset means a public release is now not expected until 2027.
