The social norm is constructed: not naturally occurring but created by the society in which it is found.
Hence there are no actions which in themselves are inherently #abnormal or universally condemned by all societies at all times. Deviance is thus situational and contextual.
"If a young woman does not follow the social injunction to have feelings in a sexual relationship, she knows that she risks being called to order, being punished. Or to feel shame or guilt. This burden of the social norm is primarily internalised."
"There is, in all circles, the threatening 'spectre of the faggot'. The determination to appear as 'a man, a real man' and secure one's masculinity, while escaping suspicion of homosexuality, which is considered demeaning and dangerous. Some gay boys from privileged backgrounds have told me that they were in a relationship with a girl at school to give the impression, to cover their tracks."

I am with the Devil (Mr Woland) on this. Manuscripts don't burn
Art cannot be destroyed. It will live on as long as humanity lives on. Those trying to erase an idea/any form of art through censorship are engaging in a futile attempt. The existence of this book itself is a testament of this fact.
A wonderful quote by Eleanor Roosevelt to go with my yellow coneflower that encourages us to never stop believing in our dreams but can be applied to many areas of our lives. – "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."
"No, no, there is no truth to the rumour that the deadly geologist Dr Pangea has escaped."
[... meanwhile...]
"The deadliest geologist of the last 1000 years is on the loose"
[Now I wanna know what a supervillain geologist did in the 11th century, lmao!]
Some people date the recent decline of England to 2016 but imo it began on 12 March 2015. I've been re-reading Jingo, The Fifth Elephant, and Night Watch, which all seem as relevant now as when written over 20 years ago. Here's Vimes thinking about processions staged by the powers that be.
"There was nothing like the massed ranks of wizardry walking sedately through the city in a spirit of civic amicability to subtly remind the more thoughtful kind of person that it hadn’t always been this way. Look at us, the wizards seemed to be saying. We used to rule this city. Look at our big staffs with the knobs on the end. Any one of these could do some very serious damage in the wrong hands so it’s a good thing, isn’t it, that they’re in the right hands at the moment? Isn’t it nice that we all get along so well?" - Jingo by Terry Pratchett, by jingo
@onepict This was one of my favourite quotes from the Snuff by Terry Pratchett:
"Vimes didn't like the phrase 'The innocent have nothing to fear', believing the innocent had everything to fear, mostly from the guilty but in the longer term even more from those who say things like 'The innocent have nothing to fear'."
This is community building as it also helps prevent them attacking or distracting your allies.
If you want to monitor obnoxious people then get a burner account.
As Auntie Toni said, and this also applies to -isms other than racism:
“The function, the very serious function of racism is distraction. It keeps you from doing your work. It keeps you explaining, over and over again, your reason for being. Somebody says you have no language and you spend twenty years proving that you do. Somebody says your head isn’t shaped properly so you have scientists working on the fact that it is. Somebody says you have no art, so you dredge that up. Somebody says you have no kingdoms, so you dredge that up. None of this is necessary. There will always be one more thing.” - Toni Morrison
